Miami Green has a wealth of pristine pools for adults & children to enjoy the slide pool is a big hit with the kids whilst the jacuzzi is great to relax in there are plenty of beds to soak up the tropical sun on or great shaded garden areas to enjoy the ocean breezes the beach is a few minutes stroll away & has some quaint cafes serving excellent local noodles & rice for less than a pound a dish.
Georgetown the fascinating capital of Penang can be reached in 20 mins by the very reliable fully air conditioned local bus.
Batu ferringhi the busling main resort area is 10 mins the local night market is a must do were fake designer goods can be picked up for Primark prices.

Air Asia Flights from Stanstead to Kuala Lumpur then a 50 min flight to Penang offer great value for money.

Husband, son and my sister shared this 3 bedroom apartment for a week, coming from Australia. Our first time in Penang, and couldn't have asked for a better introduction. From the beautiful pool right outside our door, to the great cafe on the beach a short walk away, and the ease of getting around, we all agreed we'd do it again. The apartment was roomy, and comfortable, plenty of towels, soap powder and cleaning products provided. We loved sitting out on the big balcony with a drink, watching the monkeys in the nearby trees. The shops and night market at Batu Ferringhi are a short (and cheap) taxi ride away. And in the other direction you have a huge Tesco and shopping malls with designer shops and great restaurants and bars. And the food! At the bottom of the street from Miami Green was a quiet little beach. The shingle was a bit rough under foot for those of us used to Australian beaches, but the water was like a bath, and very calm. And at the end of the little string of shops is a cafe which must be open nearly 24 hours. We had several meals there - breakfast was amazing - try the freshly made apple juice. They even sell wine - not cheap but affordable. The owner even offered us beach mats if we wanted to sit on the beach! And at the end of the day we could return to our apartment, have a hot shower and tumble into our comfy beds after watching our (free) videos, or reading the (free) books. Only downside was no wifi in the apartment, but it was free if you were sitting by the pool, which for us was easy as it was right outside the door. |
