Home description

This is a 3-storey Georgian cottage with some history, built around 1700, of the honey-coloured stone for which Bath is famous. Recently re-furbished to provide an extremely attractive, and comfortable home right in the city, it is less than five minutes walk from the Assembly Rooms, Fashion Museum and main shopping area of Milsom Street. Restaurants and wine bars are within a few minutes stroll.

The West Country / Somerset region

Bath's claim to fame includes the only hot springs in the country, which fill the Roman Baths and the new Thermae Bath Spa, the most modern Spa building in the country; the abundance of Georgian terraced houses and many individual unique buildings of that era, and the gorgeous setting in the rolling wooded hills of Somerset. The city centre is entirely user-friendly, walkable, compact and delightful to explore. There are intriguing museums, famous-name restaurants, individual shops, and pavement cafes.

Bath area

There is so much to see and learn about in the city centre itself; a good starting point would be the free walking tours of Bath with the Mayor's fully trained Honourary Guides, which operate twice every day; or take a trip on the city tour buses which make a journey through and round the city at regular intervals all day every day.

Visit the museums - Building of Bath Museum, Herschel Museum, Museum of Bath at Work, Holburne Museum, Jane Austen Centre, Fashion Museum - there is enough here to keep you busy for more than a week!

Festivals run at intervals during the year - the Literature Festival, Music Festival, Taste of Bath, Jane Austen Festival, Mozartfest, and the Christmas market. The Theatre Royal has pre-London shows, there are two other small theatres, and several picture houses

Attractions further afield include Longleat, Cheddar gorge and caves, Stonehenge, Avebury, Wells Cathedral, Bristol and pretty Cotswold villages.
