About the home
Peace and quiet are yours in this tucked away courtyard flat in a tranquil, leafy garden square of Georgian houses beside the Royal Crescent, just a few minutes' stroll from the centre of Bath. The four-roomed flat is at lower ground floor level, with the added benefit of a sunny courtyard off the kitchen for al-fresco dining, and a separate stepped entrance from the street at the front.
This flat is in the heart of residential Georgian Bath, where city amenities are immediately to hand, and sights and attractions within easy walking distance. Georgian architecture is all around you, and a unique pedestrian shopping precinct is a few steps away, with some excellent restaurants, book shops and one-off boutiques; whilst a few yards further are the main architectural sights of the Royal Crescent and The Circus.

The West Country / Somerset region

Bath's claim to fame includes the only hot springs in the country, which fill the Roman Baths and the new Thermae Bath Spa, the most modern Spa building in the country; the abundance of Georgian terraced houses and many individual unique buildings of that era, and the gorgeous setting in the rolling wooded hills of Somerset. The city centre is entirely user-friendly, walkable, compact and delightful to explore. There are intriguing museums, famous-name restaurants, individual shops, and pavement cafes.
The Bath / Central Bath area
There is so much to see and learn about in the city centre itself; a good starting point would be the free walking tours of Bath with the Mayor's fully trained Honourary Guides, which operate twice every day; or take a trip on the city tour buses which make a journey through and round the city at regular intervals all day every day.
Visit the museums - Building of Bath Museum, Herschel Museum, Museum of Bath at Work, Holburne Museum, American Museum, Jane Austen Centre, Fashion Museum - there is enough here to keep you busy for a week!
Festivals run at intervals during the year - the Literature Festival, Music Festival, Taste of Bath, Jane Austen Festival, Mozartfest, and the Christmas market. The Theatre Royal has pre-London shows, there are two other small theatres, and several picture houses
Attractions further afield include Longleat, Cheddar gorge and caves, Stonehenge, Avebury, Wells Cathedral, Bristol and pretty Cotswold villages.

Admittedly this was a basement flat but despite a new kitchen and shower cubicle, the flat had a grubby and dark feel and was not up to the standard we usually expect for this price. The carpets looked dirty throughout and although the owner had shown that she was welcoming we thought she needed some advice about what is expected in 2011! Externally the entrance area was dirty, tatty and smelly and internally the lighting was completely inadequate and the 'old style charm' did not work for us; upgrade and it could be fine.great location! |

Thanks for a very memorable holiday." Sue and Keith
" We are reluctant to leave Bath and this comfortable apartment. Thank you for your patience with our early requests and all phone issues. It does take us a while to adjust to new places.
We've had a wonderful holiday. Thank you for all you did to help us enjoy our stay in Bathy. Kathy and Alger
