The West Country / Somerset region
Batheaston is a charming village with many local amenities, from grocery stores to Village pubs and is located at a juncture of many diverse attractions, from hiking trails up Solsbury Hill, to walks along the Kennet and Avon Canal, St. Catherine’s Valley, and the many pristine villages of the Cotswolds, as well as the enchanting and historic villages of Wiltshire and Somerset. You could not ask for a more delightful retreat from the bustle of Bath City Centre. This is ancient territory, home of Stonehenge, Avebury and many early religious sects. This is also the region of England with the most gorgeous and evocative English Countryside.
Bath / Batheaston area
Bath is the home of Georgian Archtecture, the ancient Roman Baths, and writers like Jane Austen.
Bath is the only place in England with real hot springs and since the dawn of time it has been the healing centre for England. The Romans did not discover the springs, but they made good use of them. They arrived in the area around 45 A.D., after sweeping across Europe, and were delighted to find the healing mineral hot springs and the gorgeous location for them to start a settlement. And settle they did! This location had everything to offer, from the natural hot mineral springs, to the verdant wooded hills, giving shelter, game, and necessary resources such as lead and coal. In addition, the settlement had its own Clairvoyant or Seer, so that the new city, called Aquae Sulis, became a spiritual centre as well.
