Apartment | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 4
This beautiful 17th Century apartment in a grade two listed building is located right in the centre of town. You really couldn't be more central to all of the amenities that this lovely town has to offer. The spacious and airy apartment has one bedroom with separate dressing room and a stunning living room with views over the town to the front, and to the cafes on the square at the rear. The open plan kitchen is newly refurbished and has everything you need for your stay. We believe a good night's sleep is the most important thing during your holiday so the bedroom has been equipped with Laura Ashley Egyptian cotton sheets, the finest quality pillows and towels to create that little bit of luxury. There is also a day bed in the living room which converts into a large double bed if there are four people staying. The apartment just oozes charm and with its old beams, sash windows and original features you won't be disappointed. Bradford-on-Avon is a real gem and will easily provide all that you need for your stay but at just 15 minutes on the train from Bath you will be spoilt for choice of places to visit. The welcome pack and information box in the flat will provide plenty of inspiration for your stay but should you need more, I'll always be happy to help.
** Please note, given the apartment's position in town we do ask our guests to be respectful of the other residents in the building. So if you area looking for a party venue sadly that isn't us! Downtown is more suited for couples or families. **

The West Country region
If you tire of Bradford-on Avon there are plenty of beautiful an historic places to visit; Longleat, The Cotswolds, Avebury, Stonehenge and the maritime history of Bristol are all within easy driving distance and public transport links are excellent.
London is 90 minutes from Bath, by train, making a day trip easy and you can walk to the train station in Bradford on Avon which also offers direct London train services to Waterloo, or you can take a 12 minute journey and change at Bath for London services to Paddington.
A 3 minute walk away, there is a wealth of lovely country pubs and restaurants, all of which are child friendly, and on any given night you will be spoilt for choice. The numerous cafes, most of which have outdoor seating, add to the holiday feel of this beautiful town.
Somerset is a county rich in farmland and produce - Cheddar cheese is one famous natural product and Wells Cathedral is not far away to visit. Wookey Hole Caves make a fantastic day out for all ages, as is the nearby Cheddar Gorge. Glastonbury and Salisbury offer an interesting day out and Stonehenge is about 40 minutes away.
Wiltshire has many charming towns, Corsham, Castle Combe, Lacock (a National Trust Village) and Biddestone which all boast the local Cotswold architecture. The Kennet and Avon Canal, which passes through Bradford on Avon, gives the opportunity of many relaxing walks and the River Avon provides boat trips. Why not hire a canoe and head down the canal before a well deserved pint at The Lock?
The Bath / Bradford on Avon area
There is no denying that Bath is firmly on the tourist map and for very good reason. Visit the Bath Tourist information website for all the info, I wouldn't want to miss anything out! Bradford on Avon boasts an impressive 17 pubs and restaurants, all of which offer more variety than you'll ever need. The town is often referred to as a miniature Bath as it is set on hills and is built of honey coloured stone.
From great pub food in the Castle or the Dandy Lion to a locally favoured Thai restaurant and on a special occasion, the fine dining restaurant 'The Gables'. It is a delightful town which still has market day every week. The Bridge Tearooms have a reputation for transporting guests to a bygone era and serve wonderful old fashioned cakes, teabreads and crumpets with pots of real leaf tea and tea strainer!
There are a wealth of rural walks along the river or canal and why not walk along to the hamlet of Freshford if the weather is fine. As a Fair Trade town we enjoy responsible shopping where the independant shopper is still king.

"Home from home"
My wife and I stayed in this apartment for a three night break whilst visiting relatives who live in the area. Our first impression was not a positive one as there was scaffolding up on an adjacent property which was at the front of the apartment and there was debris outside the entrance door from the building work. However once inside our concerns were allayed and the apartment was better than we expected from the web site photos.
The lounge was spacious and comfortable it looks down over the high street. which made you feel part of the charming little town. (scaffolding was removed the day after we arrived)
The kitchen had no microwave? but was well fitted apart from that. accommodating the small dining table.
The Bedroom was cosy with a very comfortable double bed and a little dressing room attached.
The shower room was spacious with a decent power shower and plenty of hot water and good quality bath size towels.
oversize sofa bed in lounge seemed out of place,
would have appreciated welcome note with bottle of wine?
However these were minor issues that did not detract from what is otherwise a thoroughly pleasant little apartment
Overall we really appreciated the ambiance and decor of the apartment and had an enjoyable and relaxing stay and would happily recommend. Better than expected.
PS; parking space in Bradford on Avon is at a premium but we were able to unload our luggage etc very close by and were able to park reasonably close by for the duration of our stay.
Many thanks for your thorough feedback. I'm sorry that the area looked a little unsightly, sadly Bradford-on-Avon was hit by the floods. As for the photos, the professional photographer came today as we were a little delayed due to the unusual weather this season, I am glad that Downtown exceeded your expectations!

"Beautiful, convenient gem of a place to stay"
I stayed here in December and fell in love with the town, the surrounding area and this wonderful flat. It is newly decorated and very clean, with great views. The flat is warm and comfortable and has everything you would need for your stay. The kitchen is well equipped if you did want to self-cater, however the location of the flat also makes it really easy to explore Bradford upon Avon. It is within easy walking distance to plenty of cafes and restaurants.
This flat was great value for money and I would definitely come back for a weekend or longer to escape into the beautiful countryside.

"Idyllically situated little flat in a gorgeous town"
This flat was a great place to stay - extremely central to all the little shops, restaurants and cafes in B-o-A. It has been stylishly and lovingly done up, and the views from the flat are beautiful. Thanks for an amazing stay!
