"Elmhurst" - Lovely 3 double bedroom house in Batheaston

2.5 miles from the centre of Bath

A wonderful 1950's 3 double bed terraced home on a quiet and well presented estate in the beautiful village of Batheaston. It is always clean and tidy and has lots of natural light and original works of art on the walls. This is a part time family home and part time holiday let and is therefore a little more personal than some places, it is always presented as shown in the photos. We have rented the house as a holiday home for a year through another site and have 5 out of 5 as an overall rating.

There is plenty of on street parking and a bus which takes aprox 20 mins to Bath City Centre which is 2.5 miles as the crow flies. We have great views from the front bay windows on the ground and first floor of the house which take in Bathampton, the Solsbury Hill made famous in the Peter Gabriel song and the gorgeous oldy worldly village of Northend. There is wonderful walking from the house. Northend Church is 300 hundred yards away as are the slopes of Solsbury Hill and St Catherines Valley is reachable by foot.

Our home has a great 45 foot rear garden with salad beds and loads of raspberries in the summer. There is a water play table with a sun umbrella, a astroturfed willow den, a small table and chairs, 2 patios (one at the top of the garden which gets sun into the evening), lots of mature plants and a lawned area. Downstairs: a large kitchen-diner (table seats 6 comfortably and another two can eat at the breakfast bar, additional toddler dining chair and a booster seat available), sitting room (two seater sofa, four seater sofa and extra seating), downstairs loo and large utility space. We have restored the original parquet flooring throughout the downstairs and most of the other floors are painted wood.

Upstairs: all our beds and mattresses were new in the spring of 2012. We have two double bedrooms (one with a 5 foot four poster and one with a french style double sleigh bed) and the third bedroom has a iron day bed which can be set up as a single, 2 singles or a massive 6 ft x 6ft 6" bed with the option of an extra (new) mattress on the floor allowing this to be a triple room, there is also a travel cot which can be used in any of the bedrooms. In the sitting room we have a new day bed which extends into a large double allowing one or two people to sleep comfortably downstairs. All bedding and towels are provided and laundered professionally. There is a family bathroom upstairs and the house has unlimited wireless internet connection.

Batheaston has a couple of pubs, a fish and chip shop, post office, chemist, hairdressers and two convenience shops. There is a brilliant play park 100 yds from the house.

We get on really well with both our direct neighbours and lots of families in our street, so our home is available to rent by families and groups, but is not suitable if you wish to party hard, loud and late into the night !

I hope to have covered most things but please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any further questions.

Thanks for looking,

Rosie and Billy.
