Home description
The newest addition to self-catering our roster is a breath-taking one bedroom apartment on the first floor of an elegant Georgian House on Great Pulteney Street, in the romantic centre of Bath. We call this apartment Grand View, named for the fabulous views over Great Puleney Street from the bedroom windows and the amazing views from the kitchen and living room to the gardens below and across to the Rugby Ground and the surrounding hills.
Grand View is a gracious first floor apartment in a substantial Georgian House just over the famous Pulteney Bridge and only 5 minutes walk from the Roman Baths. This stunning flat has the high ceilings, cornicing, ceiling roses, original window shutters and the Georgian fireplaces that you would expect in such a fine property.
This is a luxury flat, with a smart modern kitchen with all modern conveniences, stylish bathroom, with tub and shower, central heatilng, and widescreen television with DVD, and of course WIFI, which is available in the flat at no extra cost. This gorgeous flat retains it's period features, yet is beautifully furnished in a strikingly modern style. There is a dramatic Queen sized bed in the bedroom and a comfortable double sized sleep sofa in the living room as well as dining space for six guests.
Although this is a luxury flat, children of all ages are welcome as long as they and their parents are well behaved. We even have a roll away bed for that extra child and we will be happy to provide a cot and highchair when necessary.
Grand View flat is in the very centre of Bath, with such heritage sites as the Roman Baths, Pulteney Bridge and the Parade Gardens at your doorstep. Great Pulteney Street is the most famous street in Bath and offers many lovely shops, restaurants and cafes. However, one of the most exciting features of this flat is it's proximity to the Rugby pitch, just around the corner, and the amazing views of this grounds available from the living room and kitchen windows.
Again, excellent Restaurants, fantastic shopping, theatre and nightlife is a short stroll away. Although there is no designated parking with the flat, we have parking permits for street parking which are available as a courtesy to our guests.

The West Country / Somerset region
This is the West Country - and Bath is nearly equa-distant from such famous sites as Stonehenge, Avebury, the Wye Valley, Glastonbury and the Cotswolds. We've got everything!
Surrounding Bath: Bath is in a wonderfully central position in the Southwest, laying at the foot of the Cotswolds and at the gate to the Mendips. There are fascinating prehistoric and heritage sites fanning out in all directions - most in less than an hours drive. Here are some of the highlights:
Stonehenge http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/server/show/nav.876 Yes it looks exactly like the Stonehenge you have seen in pictures! But it is the real thing! Thousands and thousands of years old and no one really knows what its true purpose was or who built it. Exceedingly interesting audio guides and fine gift shop as well as outside tea shop serving yummy and comforting "rock cakes". There are many tours that include Stonehenge you will find in our Tours around Bath section.
Salisbury and Old Sarum: http://www.salisburycathedral.org.uk/ http://www3.iath.virginia.edu/salisbury/docs/cathedral.html
On the route that will lead you to Stonehenge is the city of Salisbury, renowned for its amazing Medieval Cathedral, which is unique in Britain. Built entirely in the 13th century, between 1220 and 1256, its unity of vision is remarkable. Its beauty has inspired generations of artists, including Constable, to capture with paintbrush or camera, its famous spire, the tallest spire in England (at 404 feet), rising above the Salisbury meadows and the River Avon.
Old Sarum: http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/oldsarum/ Just a few miles from the cathedral city of Salisbury lies Old Sarum, the original site of Salisbury. This is a massive Iron Age hill fort which was reused succeeding conquerors, including the Romans, the Saxons and the Normans, flourishing in medieval England. This dramatic site at Old Sarum contains the ruins of a castle, a Cathedral and Bishop's Palace. The Iron Age ramparts give fine views of the surrounding landscape.
The splendid Gardens of Stourhead Stourhead is acclaimed as one of Brittains most picturesque gardens. The garden was designed in 1741 and enhanced by new species of trees from America in the 1790s. It surrounds a peaceful lake in the middle of a 2,650 acre estate, and has many classical architectural features dotted about in strategic spots around the shores. It is a picture perfect example of landscape gardening and a fine day our in the gorgeous English countryside.
