Home description
The reception room has an astonishing ceiling, reflected in an elegant mirror over a carved white marble fire-place, with a working gas fire. There is plenty of seating, a wide-screen television and dvd and more formal dining with a table to seat up to 8. This room, (along with two bedrooms above) overlooks a green patchwork of well-maintained gardens and allotments, rising up to tree filled Royal Victoria Park. In fair weather, hot air balloons take off near-by, both thrilling to watch or perhaps ride in.
A wide staircase leads up to 3 bedrooms with a home office (and wi-fi) situated up from a half-landing which overlooks Marlborough Buildings and up the hill to Lansdown crescent. The master bedroom has a super-king sized bed and is handsomely furnished in dark wood. There is plenty of storage and a large contemporary en-suite with a generous walk-in shower only, installed in January 2008. Further up the hall, another large and pretty double bedroom uses floral motifs reflecting the garden views. The third single bedroom is smart and spacious and all bedrooms have splendid Georgian proportions. This upper landing also has another newly installed contemporary bathroom and further storage, hanging space and linen cupboards.
The charming old-style kitchen meets all the needs of a busy family home. There is a double electric oven, a microwave, a washer/ dryer and dishwasher, and a large fridge/ freezer that can take care of robust appetites. Pretty dressers house an abundance of cookware, utensils and cook books and meals can be served up on a convivial round kitchen table seating 4 or more.
