House | 4 bedrooms | sleeps 8
Mulsanne House is a large, four star gold rated, four double bedroomed property, built in 2000 but in traditional Georgian style. It can be used for family gatherings, ladies' weekends, a business person's alternative to a hotel or for a group of couples to escape and relax. The make-up of the bedrooms is flexible so you may have various combinations of single, double and super king size beds. Whilst it can sleep eight comfortably, six will have more communal space in the lounge and kitchen/diner. For the warmer weather, there is a fantastic garden with lots of quality furniture to relax in, a heated grotto, stone barbeque, outdoor fridge etc. Sky TV with Sky Sports and free WiFi.
The bedrooms are as follows: One double bedded room, two ensuite double rooms with the option of single or double beds (zip and link) and one double room with single beds. We can make up the rooms to suit your requirements. We don't provide any specific facilities for children, but you can hire cots etc from http://www.babyquip-bath.co.uk/ and receive a 15% discount as one of our guests.
As well as the two ensuites and a downstairs cloakroom, there is a family bathroom.
The property is finished to a very high standard throughout and is private and quiet. The lounge is decorated in Roman style with LED HD 40" TV and gas coal effect fire, with two large quality sofas and a couple of easy chairs. There is a superb French country style kitchen and dining area as well as a study, utility room, downstairs cloakroom and separate formal dining room.
Plenty of secure parking and a bus stop on the road outside to get you into Bath in a few minutes.
We can arrange private dining for you from around £35 a head, cocktail evenings and a Karaoke system, as well as trike tours and many other activities.
One of the best pubs in the area is a short walk and from there you can catch the river bus into town - a real treat! A little further is the towpath along the nearby canal which can take you into Bath or out into the beautiful countryside. From early 2013 there will also be a new footpath from Batheaston, alongside the river Avon into Bath.
We also have a 1 bed luxury cottage for a couple called the Saltings (174775) and a 2 bed cottage, the Old Workshop, (252945) which we rent from £395 per week each, or short breaks. See our other listings. So in the same courtyard, we can accommodate groups of up to 14 people. From May 2013 we will have another 2 bed cottage, the Coach House, allowing us to take up to 18 in total.

Whilst the property is built in traditional Georgian style from the beautiful Bath stone mined in the area, it offers all the latest conveniences and comfort. A very high level of insulation means you will be warm in winter and cool in summer.
As this was our family home, it had everything we needed and we have left it virtually intact. So you will benefit from lots of small touches like Egyptian cotton bedding and fluffy Turkish cotton towels. We make every effort to ensure you will have a very relaxing and comfortable break.
The kitchen, built by craftsmen formerly employed by Mark Wilkinson furniture, is fully equipped with everything you need to conjure up a cordon bleu special. The kitchen has a double belfast sink and filtered drinking water.
There are plenty of entertainment options if Bath has exhausted you. The HD TV with surround sound, Hi Fi system, plus DVDs, games and our huge CD collection are all at your disposal. Plus you can hire our professional Karaoke system for just £20 for your whole stay. We can also recommend private caterers and even arrange Turkish cookery demonstrations!
The master bedroom has an ensuite shower room, as does one of the other bedrooms. There is also a communal bathroom and a downstairs cloakroom. Although the 'combi' boiler can produce unlimited hot water, modest water pressure in the area prevents use of all the showers/baths at the same time. All the water is softened, so you can have lots of bubbles in the bath!
|Further details outdoors|
You park right outside the front door and five or six cars can be accommodated.
The gardens and patios are at the rear, behind secure, locked gates.
There is a quirky outdoor 'grotto' hidden underneath the lawn at the rear of the house. It has lighting and underfloor heating and is a cosy bolt hole in which you may relax, read or listen to music. Next to the stone built barbeque is an outdoor kitchen area with a small fridge.
There is a round table on the upper patio to seat six, plus another table for two. On the lower patio area is an outdoor three piece suite of rattan furniture with glass topped table, under the large wind out parasol.
The garden has extensive LED lighting and it's a wonderful experience to enjoy sitting outside till the late hours, listening to music, drinking or relaxing.

The West Country region
Bath is at the centre of an almost unrivalled tourist area which offers year round entertainment and activities for young and old alike.
The beautiful countryside of the Cotswold and Mendip hills offers plenty of opportunities for sightseeing, eating, drinking, walking, cycling or just chilling out.
Country pubs, Michelin starred restaurants, historic buildings, great nightlife, festivals all year round - what more could you want?
Use Batheaston as a base or as a destination in its own right.
Access is from the M4 from the East or M5/M4 from the South or North. Bristol airport is within 45 minutes drive and the Bristol-London rail line provides regular services to Bath Spa station, which is an inexpensive bus, boat or taxi ride from Batheaston.
For those who know the City, there is no surprise to learn Bath has been the UK's 'pleasure drome' for almost 2000 years. It's certainly living up to that and first time visitors will be blown away by the variety and amount of things to do, see, hear, taste and smell. A typical reaction from a first time visitor is the regret they were not staying for much, much longer and that they will be back for at least a week next time.
Bath is a World Heritage tourist destination, its history dating back to pre Roman times. The first King of England was crowned here! Renowned Georgian architecture rivalling that of Paris, Venice or Rome has been enhanced in recent years with the addition of the £45+million Thermae Bath Spa and the Southgate shopping area, creating perhaps the UK's premier shopping destination.
Britain's only natural thermal spa features the natural mineral waters which first attracted the Romans, who named Bath, Aquae Sulis. The http://www.thermaebathspa.com offers every kind of luxury pampering experience, including the open air roof top hot bath, which is not to be missed.
But it's not just about history and architecture.
Bath has some of the best shopping, eating and drinking experiences to be had.
The Southgate shopping area and the soon to be revealed railway station complex features all the quality brand names housed in impressive Georgian style buildings and complements the famous Milsom Street and the myriad of streets, alleyways and passageways housing many unique shops and designer boutiques.
When it comes to food, the choice spans everything from grand Michelin starred restaurants to family owned bistros cooking the best local produce. Amongst some of the best known names are Jamie Oliver's "Jamie's Italian" in Milsom Place and Michael Caines at The Priory as well as a huge choice of other eateries including an authentic Sushi restaurant, wonderful tapas and a quirky Nepalese dining experience You will be further spoilt for choice by the massive selection of Indian, Chinese, Italian, French, Far Eastern and British food on offer.
After your meal, Bath's evening entertainment is similarly diverse. Our number one recommendation and that of Trip Advisor is the 'Bizarre Bath' comedy walk. This is a brilliantly funny experience and is listed in Trip Advisor's top 10 of 'things to do' in the whole of Europe! The Theatre Royal, Komedia comedy venue or the Little Theatre, showing those hard to find films are popular choices or enjoy a sophisticated drink at Hall and Woodhouse. You can round off the night with a boogie at one of Bath's many night clubs.
At almost any time of the year, Bath is host to a huge number of festivals. These include the world famous 'Bath Music Festival' and many others covering food, comedy, banjo, guitar, street performance, costume and so on.
Many of Bath's visitors come just to explore the Roman Baths and Pump Rooms, whilst the Abbey, the Circus, the Royal Crescent and the Assembly rooms are just a few of the sights you can catch from one of the many open top bus tours.
Or you can spend the day on the look out for the famous! Amongst those known to either live or spend time in and around the City are Johnny Depp, Nicholas Cage, John Cleese, Van Morrison, Midge Ure, Manolo Blahnik and Jonathan Dimbleby .
Batheaston provides easy access to all those delights but is also a destination in its own right. Situated at the foot of Solsbury Hill, made famous by local resident Peter Gabriel, the village nestles at the end of the Cotswold Way. Bordered by the river Avon, where you can fish, take a boat ride or enjoy a waterside drink and a bite to eat. Or why not be adventurous and take in some 'wild swimming' at the fabulous Claverton Weir? It's an easy cycle or good walk from Batheaston and is a gorgeously beautiful place and one of Britain's best wild swimming spots. Also easily walkable is the Kennet and Avon canal, with its immensely popular 'George' public house, right by the water. Or wander up into St Catherine's, a valley so beautiful, Jane Seymour made it her home and welcomed the likes of Robbie Williams and other celebrities. Our courtyard has already welcomed a couple of 'celebrities' to stay, but discretion is assurred so we won't say who. Other 'stars' who appreciate Batheaston's qualities and have made it their home include Ian Holloway the manager of Blackpool football club.
Batheaston has a fascinating history, much of it reflected in it's many ancient Cotswold stone buildings. Between 1909 and 1912, Batheaston was the refuge and home of the suffragettes. The most famous, Emmeline Pankhurst, was amongst many who helped establish an arboretum in the village as a symbol of their hopes for political equality.
Within a short drive of the village you can visit Castle Combe, often claimed to be England's prettiest village (check out the motor racing circuit too!) and Lacock, a National Trust owned historic village which featured in the Harry Potter films. Longleat Safari Park is an easy 30 minute drive.
Post office, pubs, traditional English fish and chip shop, mini supermarket, chemist, newsagent and hairdresser can all be found in the village, just a few minutes walk from the property.
