The property, which is a grade II listed building, has one bedroom and an adjacent shower room, both with beautiful views over the village below. There is a brand new Laura Ashley sofa bed if there are four people staying but please be aware that to access the shower room you have to go through the bedroom so it is recommended for families or good friends! Enjoy slipping into the beautifully comfy bed after a hard day's exploring and all towels are provided for your comfort. Luxury hand soap and hand wash are available for your use in the shower room.
The kitchen / living room also enjoys stunning views and is a cosy retreat at any time of the year. You will find some tasty biscuits and jams left for when you arrive and there is always a variety of teas and coffees in the cupboard for your use. All you need bring is the milk! The beautiful art work has been provided by a very talented local artist so you can have your own private viewing once you've retired for the evening.
The stable door leads out across the path into the walled garden where there is a table and chairs for those warm evenings, or for a sport of afternoon tea, but please take care with young children as the bottom of the garden does lead to a steep drop and it is not recommended that children are left unsupervised. Help yourself to the herbs from the herb garden and if you enjoy gardening, please feel free to have a potter...Or take the lanterns and candles outside for a romantic candlelit evening looking out over the town.

The newly renovated apartment which nestles into the hillside in one of the most historic parts of the town, used to be part of a row of weavers cottages. It is now an utterly charming and romantic 1 bedroom self-catering holiday cottage with a sofa bed in the living room for families. Take a stroll along the row of cottages to the church of st mary tory or down the warren of quaint steps and across the bridge into town. Further afield lies bath, stonehenge, longleat, wells, the cotswolds, cheddar and numerous national trust properties as well as canal and river walks nearby. On a sunday morning listen to the chorus of church bells or the steam train blowing its horn on the way through the valley. The kitchen is well equipped and you'll never tire of looking out of the window across the charming bath-stone rooftops to the westbury white horse painted into the hillside.
The walled garden makes for a restful retreat after a busy day of exploring the many local charms and feel free to raid the herb garden if you are keen on cooking. Staying on tory is a memorable experience and one that you'll want to return to again and again.

|Further details outdoors|
There isn't parking outside the house as there isn't any car access to Tory, which adds its charm but there is a car park 100 metres up the hill which is available for residents. If there isn't a space there then there are alternative options nearby

The West Country region
If you tire of Bradford-on Avon there are plenty of beautiful an historic places to visit; Longleat, The Cotswolds, Avebury, Stonehenge and the maritime history of Bristol are all within easy driving distance and public transport links are excellent.
London is 90 minutes from Bath, by train, making a day trip easy and you can walk to the train station in Bradford on Avon which also offers direct London train services to Waterloo, or you can take a 12 minute journey and change at Bath for London services to Paddington.
A 3 minute walk away, there is a wealth of lovely country pubs and restaurants, all of which are child friendly, and on any given night you will be spoilt for choice. The numerous cafes, most of which have outdoor seating, add to the holiday feel of this beautiful town.
Somerset is a county rich in farmland and produce - Cheddar cheese is one famous natural product and Wells Cathedral is not far away to visit. Wookey Hole Caves make a fantastic day out for all ages, as is the nearby Cheddar Gorge. Glastonbury and Salisbury offer an interesting day out and Stonehenge is about 40 minutes away.
Wiltshire has many charming towns, Corsham, Castle Combe, Lacock (a National Trust Village) and Biddestone which all boast the local Cotswold architecture. The Kennet and Avon Canal, which passes through Bradford on Avon, gives the opportunity of many relaxing walks and the River Avon provides boat trips. Why not hire a canoe and head down the canal before a well deserved pint at The Lock?
There is no denying that Bath is firmly on the tourist map and for very good reason. Visit the Bath Tourist information website for all the info, I wouldn't want to miss anything out! Bradford on Avon boasts an impressive 17 pubs and restaurants, all of which offer more variety than you'll ever need. The town is often referred to as a miniature Bath as it is set on hills and is built of honey coloured stone.
From great pub food in the Castle or the Dandy Lion to a locally favoured Thai restaurant and on a special occasion, the fine dining restaurant 'The Gables'. It is a delightful town which still has market day every week. The Bridge Tearooms have a reputation for transporting guests to a bygone era and serve wonderful old fashioned cakes, teabreads and crumpets with pots of real leaf tea and tea strainer!
There are a wealth of rural walks along the river or canal and why not walk along to the hamlet of Freshford if the weather is fine. As a Fair Trade town we enjoy responsible shopping where the independant shopper is still king.

"A perfect holiday!"
Spent a wonderful six weeks in June/July at 10 Tory and it really was a perfect holiday - the accommodation is just as good as the other reviewers have described, the town as beautiful and the weather, of course, was amazing - six weeks of sunshine! The owner (Alice) has clearly put a lot of thought into making 10 Tory as much a home from home as possible for her lucky guests. The apartment was very well-equipped with everything needed for a long stay. The location was excellent and The Hill (much commented on) offers a great workout every day. I would recommend the gorgeous walks around the town, particularly along the Kennet & Avon Canal. Bradford is a busy little town and there were various festivals running while I was there as well as a wonderful secret gardens day. Check with the local tourist office to see what is on. There are also excellent places to eat as well as have a drink to recover from those long walks!
I rarely heard the dog that one reviewer mentioned and it certainly was not a problem.
