Home description
Managed personally by owners Kate and Simon Pilkington, our apartment is a special retreat in the centre of Bath - a real 'home from home' - whether you stay for a weekend or a fortnight.
One Argyle Street is a luxury Georgian townhouse in the very heart of the world heritage city of Bath. Situated on the famous Pulteney Bridge with views over the River Avon this 2-bedroom first-floor holiday apartment is a real gem. We're also recommended by Alastair Sawday.
We offer hotel-quality accommodation in a place that you can call your own. The flat sleeps 4 comfortably and is a great, comfortable and relaxed way to take in Bath and enjoy this great City, whether you're visiting on business or for pleasure.
Built in 1792 to complement Pulteney Bridge and just recently refurbished, One Argyle Street is a classical Regency building with all the period features you would expect of a property of this stature.
The large and light first floor apartment is a short walk from everything you could ever want to do or see in bath, including:
- shopping on Milsom Street; - Premiership rugby at the Recreation Ground; - relaxation at the new Thermae Bath Spa; - history at the Roman Baths and Bath Abbey; - culture at the Royal Theatre and Victoria Art Gallery; and, - hundreds of restaurants, cafes, bars and entertainment.

The West Country / Somerset region
The West Country represents everything that is great about England and English countryside. Friendly country pubs, fantastic walks, welcoming people and beautiful towns and villages - coupled with a vibrant identity and historic and cultural attractions such as the Roman Baths, Stonehenge, Wells Cathedral, Bristol docks and Avebury. It is also a short distance from Cornwall and the stunning Devon coastline, so if the sea takes your fancy you're only an hour or so away from the beach!
Bath / Central Bath area
Whilst the apartment itself is a Georgian gem, what really sets One Argyle Street apart is its location. Sitting astride the Pulteney Bridge in the heart of Bath, you are literally minutes from every possible attraction this wonderful city has to offer.
If you’re arriving by train, Bath Spa station is a 2 minute walk away and this makes travelling to One Argyle Street from London particularly easy and relaxing.
Upon arrival you might fancy tea in the pump rooms (2 minute walk) or perhaps a relaxing session in the new Thermae bath spa (4 minute walk). When you’re done pampering you might want to take in the great bath abbey (1 minute walk) or perhaps succumb to some retail therapy in bath’s many boutique and individual shops (1 minute walk). Or you might want to take in some countryside and head out of bath on the kennet and avon canal (1 minute). When you get hungry you can choose from one of the many fantastic restaurants in the city (1-5 minute walk) before sampling a local bath ale in one of the many great pubs on your doorstep. And if you decide that all you want to do is relax in our beautiful apartment with a bottle of wine and a good book, then you can still keep an eye on the city from the comfort of the apartment itself!
In short, whether you stay for a weekend or a three weeks, you will never tire of the endless options available to you from the central position of One Argyle Street. It is, quite simply, the perfect place to be.
How to get there
One Argyle Street is conveniently located a short walk from Bath Spa train station, and is only 1hr 30mins from London Paddington and London Heathrow Airport.
The apartment is also easily accessible by car from the M4 and M5, as well as being only half an hour from Bristol International Airport.
We can arrange transportation for guests if required - including taxis (or even a horse-drawn carriage!) to collect from Bath Spa station.
