The Old Stables
About the home
The Old Stable is located just three minutes' walk from a tiny railway station, on the edge of the delightful old Cotswold village of Freshford. Quiet and peaceful, this village of stone cottages and grand houses is only ten minutes by rail from the exciting World Heritage city of Bath. There is excellent access to a village shop, and to the local pub/restaurant which serves very good food.
The house has its own dedicated parking right outside the door. The accommodation consists of two large reception rooms - one with a glass wall into the pleasant stone-walled yard - two double bedrooms, one large single bedroom and a kitchen and bathroom. It is ideal for families or groups, with plenty in the surrounding area to see and do during your stay, and special features such as country walks with two rivers and a canal to enjoy.

Enquire nowThe West Country / Somerset region
This extraordinarily beautiful region of wooded hills and river meadows has a long history. The mighty footprints of the Romans were subsequently trodden by Saxon yeomen, and eventually the region became important during the Industrial Revolution and afterwards for the weaving of woollen fabrics. Many traces of these activities remain in the architecture of the countryside.
The Bath / Freshford area
The local town of Bradford-on-Avon (45 minutes walk along the canal tow-path, or a short train ride) offers a snapshot of a stone-built mill town, with lovely architecture and many tourist attractions from a 14th century tithe barn to a Saxon church. The city of Bath has a really huge number of restaurants, museums, activities and shops as well as many festivals and an astonishing wealth of history, all packed into this small quintessentially Georgian World Heritage city. You couldn't find a nicer or more interesting place to spend quality holiday time.
