Penny Cottage is one of the few surviving Georgian artisan cottages in central Bath, and is conveniently situated a short stroll from the Assembly Rooms, The Circus, The Royal Crescent and Bath's many other world-famous heritage sites. Bohemian Walcot Street is nearby, as is elegant Milsom Street and an array of lovely boutiques and restaurants. The Thermae Bath Spa is also within easy reach. Penny Cottage was refurbished throughout in 2011, and offers comfortable and flexible accommodation for up to 4 guests, making it ideal for couples or small groups who want all that Bath has to offer right on their doorstep.
Penny Cottage is personally managed by the owner, who aims to make it a true home from home for guests and give them a taste of what it is like to live in the beautiful city of Bath. Welcoming touches include personal meet and greet, and tea, coffee, milk, sugar and other household staples are provided. A full range of shops, supermarkets, cafes, bars and restaurants are all within easy walking distance.

The smart black front door takes you into the entrance lobby with space for coats and shoes. The inner hallway leads into the elegant and comfortable sitting room, with plenty of room to sit and relax after a hard day of sightseeing and shopping. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to cook a delicious meal and a table that seats 4 - that is, if you can resist Bath's wide range of lovely restaurants! At the back of the house is a small, private courtyard, with room for 2 people to dine al fresco.
Upstairs are the two pretty bedrooms, each with 1500 pocket sprung mattresses, anti-allergy duvets and pillows, secondary glazing and blackout blinds. Bedroom 1 has a zip & link bed so can be arranged as either a 6ft double or 3ft twin beds, depending on your requirements. Bedroom 2 has a 4'6" double bed.There is a chest of drawers in each room, and the spacious landing has a built-in wardrobe. The bathroom has a thermostatically-controlled shower over a full size bathtub and sleek, modern fittings including a demisting mirror and generously-sized towel radiator.
For added flexibility, the sofa in the sitting room can become a double bed with sprung mattress (bedding available on request).

Residents' Parking Permit provided for the duration of your stay, which gives you free on-street parking in designated parking bays anywhere in the Central Zone of Bath. (It is usually possible to park in the street outside Penny Cottage, but this cannot be guaranteed.)
The West Country / Somerset region


Bath is in North-East Somerset in the West Country of England. It is one of the most beautiful areas in the UK, a lush landscape of rolling hills and fertile valleys, with an abundance of scenic towns and villages to explore, among them the National Trust village of Lacock, Castle Combe, Bradford-on-Avon and Glastonbury. The iconic prehistoric sites of Stonehenge and Avebury are within an easy drive, as is Longleat House and Safari Park, Center Parcs, Stourhead and Dyrham Park.
The cities of Bristol, Wells and Salisbury are also within the vicinity, and Bath is also a convenient base from which to explore the Cotswolds. So whether you love the city or the countryside, this area of the UK has so much to offer for both long and short stays.
