CHARLESTON HOUSE is set with its own landscaped gardens, with lovely large back garden, complete with summer house and separate patios. It is s set back from the London Road at the entrance to the city of Bath.
Each flat is a masterpiece of style, with fabulous decor and all the luxury you can handle. Each flat is completely self contained yet they can be taken separately or all together - for they each have access through the main entrance, staircase and landings - and from the entrance hall - the back garden is available to all.
Now, here is a description of the house as you enter into the front hall:
To your left is the SOHO SUITE - an astonishingly colourful one bedroom apartment that sleeps 2. The SOHO suite has access through French Doors to a secluded patio in the back garden.
To your right is MADISON'S APARTMENT, a chic one bedroom apartment with a sleep sofa in the open plan lounge so it can sleep up to 4 persons.
Up the stairs, you reach the main landing from which the stairs to STELLA'S enter on your right. STELLA'S SUITE, is a spacious three bedroom apartment that can only be described as glamourous. STELLA'S SUITE boasts the most amazing feature of this most amazing house - an authentic "Spitfire" kitchen, a relic of post war British ingenuity. It is a fabulous choice for this retro/50's modern apartment.
STELLA'S has a spacious lounge - with plenty of seating area. There is a balcony off of the dining kitchen for warm summer nights, gracious hallways and fantastic views from every window. There are 3 king bedrooms, one of which has a super-king that can be split into twins. There is a large and lovely bathroom and a stone-clad shower room. STELLA'S can sleep up to 6 persons.
Back to the First Floor, we have the gracious 2 bedroom apartment called THE HAMPTON'S. The HAMPTON'S features an enormous stone clad shower room with under floor heating, leading to a separate bathroom built out over the back garden. There is another stone-clad shower room ensuite to one of the 2 king bedded rooms.
The second king bedded room has a super king bed that splits into twin beds and another daybed in the room. THE HAMPTON'S can sleep up to 5 persons.
THE HAMPTONS also has a gracious lounge with 2 big sofas and a stylish dining table in the bay window. There is a another balcony off of the kitchen.
Taken together the 4 flats can sleep up to 17 persons in total comfort and among spectacular surroundings.

What can one say? The house has to be seen. The decor is so stylish - so astonishing, and the feel of the house is of total luxury. You will love it!

There is a long front garden and the house is shielded from the road by a very tall hedge. The back garden is landscaped to perfection and has several terraces, patios and a pretty summer house.

We will be requiring a deposit of £500 from your credit or debit card to confirm your booking. This deposit will also act as the Damage Deposit to be refunded after your departure.
By “Damage”, we mean not only the physical damage to the property, but also damage caused by irresponsible behavior that sullies our reputation as an elegant holiday rental in the city of Bath.
CHARLESTON HOUSE HAS A STRICT GOOD NEIGHBOUR POLICY
Please remember that you are renting an elegant “Townhouse” in the centre of Bath. This means that you will be staying in a fine residence surrounded by real neighbours.
We expect you to respect not only our house, but the houses of our neighbours. We believe that they are entitled to peace of mind and a good night’s sleep.
If we hear that you have caused a disturbance, whether by upraised voices after 11 PM or by loud music, you will be fined one half of your Damage Deposit.
Remember that it is YOU who will be responsible for the actions of your guests as well as the physical condition of the property when you depart.
Make everyone in your party aware of this, and remind them all to be respectful of this splendid home and of our neighbourhood and to behave in a civilized manner whilst you are here. Please leave The Duchy in the fine condition in which you have found it.
YOUR FULL BALANCE will be taken 2 months or 60 days before your arrival date. We will send you another Confirmation at that point to let you know we have taken your balance and to touch base with your arrival plans.
We can take this from your credit or debit card also. Be sure that everyone in your party is aware of this commitment before making your reservation.
YOUR DEPOSIT will be refunded within the week of your departure (usually within 72 hours).
CANCELLATION: In the unhappy event that you must cancel after you have paid your deposit or your full balance, we will make every effort to rebook the property. If the property is rebooked, your funds will be returned, less a £100 Administration Fee.

Bath is the only place in England with real hot springs and since the dawn of time it has been the healing centre for England. The Romans did not discover the springs, but they made good use of them. They arrived in the area around 45 A.D., after sweeping across Europe, and were delighted to find the healing mineral hot springs and the gorgeous location for them to start a settlement. And settle they did! This location had everything to offer, from the natural hot mineral springs, to the verdant wooded hills, giving shelter, game, and necessary resources such as lead and coal. In addition, the settlement had its own Clairvoyant or Seer, so that the new city, called Aquae Sulis, became a spiritual centre as well.
Surrounding Bath is some of the most gorgeous countryside you could imagine and with in 45 minutes you can visit Stonehenge, Avebury and the beautiful village of Castle Combe.
The Bath / Central Bath area
Today, Bath is a small, but cosmopolitan and lovely city. In the time of King George, the city fathers built many innovative buildings in a style that has come to be known as the Georgian Style. Bath is the birthplace of this once modern architecture. Now, with its architectural integrity and the golden hue of its stone, it is one of the jewels of Britain's heritage.
Set within the rolling hills of the most amazing West County landscape, Bath has become the perfect base from which to explore our English history. There are many nearby historical sites, all within 60 minutes of Bath: Stonehenge, the enormous stone circle at Avebury, the beautiful cathedral at Wells, the mysteries of Glastonbury, the National Trust village of Lacock, the perfect Cotswold village of Castle Combe, the Cheddar Gorge, or Longleat, the spectacular home of the Marquis of Bath, as well as some amazing Castles in Wales - just 45 minutes away!

If you have wisely decided to come by train, you will find a taxi stand at the front of the Bath Spa Train Station. Just let your hosts know what time you plan to arrive and perhaps call them when you get in to the station to let them know you have arrived safely.
