The accomodation has oil fired central heating and comprises: Lounge: With colour TV, DVD, CD radio, gas stove and lake view. Dining kitchen: With double electric oven, ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, an american style fridge/freezer and lake view. Utility/drying room: With washing machine and tumble drier.
All fuel, bed linen and towels provided. Cot, high chair and baby bath available.
The Cumbria/Lake District
The Lake District conjures up images of magnificent mountains and shimmering lakes and that is exactly what visitors find here. In fact the whole county of Cumbria is home to some of Britain's most beautiful scenery. This region has been a favourite all year round holiday destination for years and apart from its natural beauty it's also packed with lots of attractions and activities that cater for every kind of holidaymaker, from family holidays to romantic breaks for couples and from those who are looking for lots of activities and sports to those that prefer more gentle country pursuits. The Lake District National Park lies at the heart of Cumbria and contains well known and much loved holiday destinations such as Windermere, Bowness, Ambleside, Coniston and Grasmere, here there are lots of charming Lakeland villages to discover and visitor attractions for all the family. The northern and western lakes have miles of untouched natural rugged beauty and rural villages as well as being home to the historic northern lakes town of Keswick with its many shops, pubs and restaurants; providing a great holiday base. Other areas to discover include the Eden Valley, Cartmel peninsula, south east Cumbria and the Carlisle and Hadrian's Wall area; all equally beautiful and very handy for day trips into the lakes.
Bassenthwaite is a quiet area where visitors can simply relax be at one with nature. The lake is the most well known attraction within this beautiful village where guests can unwind and watch the different species of wildlife that arrive here. For those who prefer to explore the scenery, this delightful village has a huge variety of different places to walk including many popular long distance ones including Allerdale Ramble. Bassenthwaite also has a few different attractions that the whole family will enjoy such as Mirehouse is full of historical knowledge along with a fantastic play area for children and a maze to keep everyone entertained. Keswick is located nearby and is well known for it stunning Derwent water but there are also plenty of other activities routed here for the whole family to enjoy. Stunning walks can be found around Derwent water which any outdoor enthusiast will find absolutely breathtaking. Boat rides are also available frequently as another opportunity for visitors to explore this beautiful area or for those who love to explore the waters on their own, Derwent water Marina is the best place to learn skills in canoeing and sailing. A more extreme way of exploring the area is with the adventure centre which offers a variety of outdoor activities that any thrill seeker is sure to love! Other attractions that are perfect for the whole family to enjoy include Go Ape which is close by and offers a fantastic opportunity to try out something a little bit different whilst in the most spectacular scenery. There is also The Puzzling Place which has many different optical illusions and is a great family day out along with Trotters World of Animals which is another great attraction to visit for any animal lover. For those who prefer to be inspired by both literature and history, a museum about William Wordsworth is an ideal place to visit and learn all about his life. Keswick has a huge variety of different attractions and there is something here for everyone – it provides the perfect area for that extra special holiday.
