About this location
The Province of Ulster region
Blueberry Cottage ( A Gem) is in the heart of Ireland's most beautiful lake lands. This area is steeped with ancient sites and unspoilt landscape. You can find here the Ireland you may have thought was lost. Tranquil for relaxing in or an inspiring discovery on foot, bicycle or by car. Close to the acclaimed Cavan Burren Park, Global Geopark, Marble Arch Caves and Cuilcagh Mountain
Hill, lakeside and woodland walks, the cottage is within easy reach of the coast of Sligo and Donegal and the lakes and waterways of Enniskillen. Two hours drive from Belfast and Dublin. I look foward to greeting you and introducing you to the native wildlife that live around the cottage, Red Squirrels, badgers, deer, a variety of birds sited, including heron, a kite, different hawks, lizards, newts and an otter who has his holt near the wildlife pond. A Retreat for one and all.
You will discover the true essence of an unspoilt landscape of woodland, forest and leafy lanes with an abundance of wildflowers and ferns within this peaceful environment.
Within easy reach are the Marble Arch Caves, the Claddagh Glen and the mystical ancient sites of the Cavan Burren with their abundance of megalithic and neolithic tombs, hut sites and dolmens.
The nearby Lough Macnean offers tranquil walks and wild swimming and excellent coarse fishing, fungi hunting and wild foraging. Blacklion, 3 miles from the cottage has a golfing gem in its lakeside 9 hole parkland course with many other superb courses, including the famous Lough Erne Golf and Country Club and the Co. Sligo (Rosses Point) links, less than 30 minutes away.
The nearby towns of Blacklion, Belcoo, Glenfarne Village and Manorhamilton give you a choice of restaurants and pubs to enjoy. Manorhamilton is known internationally for for its sculpture centre and the Glen Centre has an eclectic arts programme.
