Casa De Vista De Montahna is a beautiful house surrounded by beautiful Eucalyptus trees and amazing views. It has 3 bedrooms of which 1 is set in the converted barn, this also has a huge bathroom/wet room and a wonderful view from the window into the valley. This bedroom/bathroom would also be most suitable for wheelchair use as all on one level with door out to the courtyard and across to the lounge in the main house for convenience.

The 2 other bedrooms are in the main house and their colours are Plum and Cream and Black and White and very tastefully furnished with wardrobes, chest of drawers and bedside cabinets in all. There are also plenty of towels and bed linen in each bedroom also.

The kitchen is open plan and is very large. This has a table and 6 chairs placed in it and has everything you would want to cook and run a kitchen.

There is a utility room just 3 steps up from the kitchen that rooms a washing machine, hoover, iron and ironing board and other cleaning implements as well as a fridge/freezer and these are tucked away out of sight allowing this lovely kitchen to stand nice and organised.

Cutlery, glasses and all appliances are provided for in the kitchen.

There is also a microwave and toaster as well as the normal items a kitchen would have, basically home from home.

The bathroom has one large hand basin and a toilet and a large shower.

There is also plenty of storage for towels toiletries etc.

There is also a hairdryer and hair straighteners there for your convenience,

The lounge speaks for itself, it is huge and has a 2 seater as well as a 3 seater leather sofa. It has patio doors out to the enclosed courtyard. This room also has another table and 6 chairs for those times when you want to entertain or cook that special dinner wih candles, soft lights etc. It has satelite TV as well as a DVD and Video. There are a small selection of DVD's, It also has an Ipod station in the event you would have an Ipod.

There is also a cosy log burner in the lounge for those chilly nights that also acts as central heating in the winter months.

There is a strictly non smoking policy anywhere in the house.

There is a very large veranda and deck from the back door where yet another table and 6 chairs live. There is also room to put sun loungers up alongside the table as well. This area has been recently built and is huge in size, approx. 4.5 metres by 5 metres.

I have had a small beach built around an upright swimming pool measuring 3.23 metres by 0.9 metres deep. This is perfect for relaxing in on those hot days, drink a beer, admire the fantastic view from the pool and when you have finished cooling off you can get out and relax on the sun loungers situated on the beach next to it, good ay?

There is also a large purpose built Bar B Q to the side of the Courtyard which cooks amazing food.

The armoa of the Eucalyptus first thing in the morning is unique.

The courtyard is surrounded by a walled garden and is completely private. It has double gates for security and parking for 2 or 3 cars at any given time. Casa de Vista de Montanha is set off the road and tucked away behind some amenities that include a lovely family run cafe/bar, you will find these people very friendly and happy to help you. You can have a nice coffee there or participate with the locals in drinking their fine local wines and at a very reasonable price too. Other amenities within 5 minutes walking are 2 fine restaurants another cafe/bar, a supermarket where you can get your essentials. InterMarche is about 10 minutes from the house for your large shopping. There is also a florist a 3 minutes walk away. There a Fish and Meat Market Tuesdays and Thursdays and this is about a 15 minute walk from the house.

The town of Mortagua has everything you need daily, cafes, restaurants, banks, train station and local farmers markets ( every Thursday).

There are varied markets which include assorted cheeses and naturally there is always the famous piri piri chicken available to eat. There are lots of celebrations and festivals that go on throughout the summer so there is always something to do. You will find the Portugese extremely friendly and are happy to show you their traditions and lots of fun to be had by all. The local area is perfect for a range of outdoor pursuits including walking, cycling, canoeing, fishing and horse riding..

There is a fantastic waterfall in the village of Paredes which is just 10 minutes away to visit which is beautiful.

There are a couple of night clubs in Mortagua for those who want to dance the night away.

Just outside Mortagua there is what the locals call River Beach in a place called A Nossa Senhora Do Ribeira. This is a wonderful place to spend your days. It has a man made beach with sunbeds, sun umbrellas, toilet facilities and a bar for a drink and light refreshments. Just around the bay there are facilities to ride Jet Skis. It also has pedaloes. This place is definitely worth a visit.

Mortagua has still yet to be discovered, there are many places to visit, wonderful walks for those who like.

Who knows perhaps you will discover something nobody else has???

Casa De Vista De Montahna is 20 minutes from the town of Luso which nestles on the edge of the beautiful Bussaco National Park (complete with Palace) .

Bussaco is home to the famous BUSSACO PALACE HOTEL, this is located in Bucaco National Park, 105 hectares of centuries old walled forest, planted by the order of the Barefoot Carmelites in the 17th century. This famous botanical treasure includes specimens of rare and exotic plants collected from all over the world.

Luso is just 5 minutes from here and is a beautiful town that has it's own free running spa in the centre of the town and you can help yourself to this. A lovely park where you can picnic around a large lake that has assorted ducks etc and a cafe/restaurant if you prefer not to take a picnic which you will find very pleasant and reasonably priced.

There are tourist information centres based in Mortagua and Luso who would be happy to help you and point you in the right direction.

Casa De Vista De Montahna is just 45 minutes from the Silver Coast-Figueira da Foz which is very popular with surfers and sun seekers.

Further details indoors

Casa De Vista De Montahna is a very tastefully designed property that is very private but also within 5 minutes of local amenities which is a plus for anyone. It is very clean and bright and secluded. This property sits in an unspoilt and largely undiscovered part of Portugal.

Further details outdoors

The pool is an upright pool. 3.2 mtrs wide by 0.8 mtrs deep. Not a huge pool but more than adequate to relax in and sunbath in if you wish. This is surrounded by a small man made beach giving the perfect surroundings for relaxation on the doorstep without the hassle of driving to a beach.

Completely safe for children.

The outside of this property is beautifully designed. There is a large cobbled stoned courtyard leading to a side gate into the garden. Double gates to outside the property and of course to the converted barn where 3rd bedroom and bathroom is. There is garden around the courtyard with varied flowers and shrubs and of course the patio table and chairs. These chairs now live on a large patio/deck area off the back door, this measures 5mtrs X 4.5 mtrs making it a very big area making plenty of space available for sun loungers on it if you prefer to not sit on your very own beach.

Last but not least, the absolutely amazing views of the Eucalyptus trees and in the distance the famous mountains can be seen on a clear day.

Thank you very much for your review and glad you enjoyed your stay. Apologies about the pool. The pool attendant had been taken ill prior to your arrival and I had no knowledge of it but was very glad to hear the problem was rectified swiftly. It is a beautiful part of Portugal. The bus service runs just 4 times a day from the top of my road but is enough if you wanted to go into town for the morning or the afternoon. My in ground swimming pool is being dug out and built starting in January so should you wish to return next year it will be all set and landscaped. Photos will be advertised on here as soon as it is ready, hopefully by end of March. Once again I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay and will welcome you back anytime.

"Great Holiday from Start to Finish"

From the initial contact I was impressed by how easy the booking process was and how helpful the owner was. Having not been to this area of Portugal before I found the directions from Lisbon airport very precise and located the property without any problems.
As arranged I visited the nearby bar to pick up the keys to the house from the owners of the bar and took the opportunity to partake in some light refreshment following the journey. During this initial visit it became apparent just how friendly these people were affording us every courtesy with offers of help with any problems we might encounter.

We entered the property from the courtyard into the lounge and were immediately impressed by the size of the room and the homely feel with the furnishings and pictures adorning the walls. In this room were two large leather sofa's, six seater dining table, large television with satelite connection, various small tables and lighting. Our next area to visit was the kitchen/diner which was very well laid out with a six seater table and a welsh dresser housing an ample supply of glasses with which to entertain if needed. The kitchen itself housed a large cooker with six ring hob which we found to be more than adequate for our needs floor and wall mounted cupboards housed all the crockery, pans and cutlery that we required leaving plenty of room for dry googs storage. Just off the kitchen was an appliance room housing a rather large fridge/freezer which was more tham large enough to hold a good supply of beer on top of other refridgerated goods. Further off this room was the laundry room housing the washing machine and ironing area.

Up a short flight of stairs we had two bedrooms of very good size both with double beds and wardrobes. Leading off from the landing was a shower/toilet room with a shower that was powerful for our needs.

Across the courtyard was a barn conversion which housed a very large bedroom complete with double bed, wardrobe, chests of drawers & two seater sofa. All this furniture and there was still ample room to move around which was a blessing as one couple from our party used this as their accomodation throughout our visit. The view from the window in this barn conversion looked down into the valley which was substantially planted with eucalyptus trees. Off this room was an enormous walk in shower room which also housed a toilet and large wash basin unit. The shower which was able to be locked from the main room became a must use every day for all in our party due to it's size and large shower head.

The accomodation combined with the ease of booking made this holiday one of the most enjoyable we have ever taken anywhere and I would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone who requests it.

Thank you very much for your review. I am so pleased that you found everything enjoyable. Casa De Vista De Montahna is, as you say, in a lovely location and lots to do in and around it. I look forward to hearing back from you for your next booking as arranged.

"What a great location, Fantastic stay!"

I, my partner, and a couple of close friends stayed at the Casa de Vista de Montahna last year and we were all very happy with the holiday overall!. The location is overlooking these beautiful mountains and eucalyptus trees, (didn't see any Koalas! ha).

The inside is very spacious and well designed. Large Kitchen area with all pans, utensils, (more than enough) cutlery, and crockery supplied. Great oven and VERY large hob top (again to easily cater for larger parties), and microwave. Didn't need to think about anything other than getting the food. (very big fridge and freezer also for bigger parties.)

Good sized, utility room for washing, ironing, drying etc but we tried to use this an minimally as possible of course! (it's a holiday!) 
Has two dining tables, one in the kitchen which is suited for breakfast, and lunch (if you're not outside furniture lapping up the early sun!), overlooking the courtyards and mountains and another for dining table for dinner. Lots of nice painting on the walls also making it feel very homely.
Lots of seating areas, sofa's etc when watching TV or DVD's, (also has Satellite!) in the lounge area.

Good sized bedrooms and plenty of storage with wardrobes and draws in all. Nice bathroom inside the house with shower but not a touch on the one outside in the converted Barn room.
This is a great room/ area with an en suite bathroom and large walk-in shower/ wet room.
There are two bedrooms inside the main house anyway but having a third converted Barn area just the other side of the courtyard is perfect for larger parties wanting to sleep more than 4 in the main house, or just 2 couples who want a little privacy from the other couple when going off to bed after a few wines ;). (this also has a great little window in it the overlooks the back of the forest on a big slope so absolute privacy with a complete open window, lovely!

The location is great access from the main road, but very private also because of how it is set back in the side road. It has good (safe) parking area around the back for at least two cars. (also an area out front for one more car if necessary, right next to the cherry tree you can pick from!)

Within stumbling (yes, stumbling is an accurate use of the word) distance of the side road is a GREAT little bar and cafe. Does breakfast in the morning if you want to eat out of the house or is your first morning there and you haven't gone to the supermarket yet.
They are such good costs, free WiFi and everything is soo cheap, you almost want to tip and pay more for everything when they tell you how much it is!? Beer is very cheap and Wine is soo good and soo cheap as it is all home grown out there.
Such friends owners for the bar cafe and before you have any concerns, the outside of the cafe / bar is very clean, and very quiet.

The side road is opposite a bus stop that takes you straight into town, (Mortagua).
There are recycling areas a little bit back from the bus stop, (so minimal walking with the big black bin bags of empty beer and wine bottles!)

We went to a place called Luso which was a great town, lots of history and only around 45 minutes away, definitely worth a visit!. (the opposite direction to Mortagua).
The town of Mortagua where you'll find everything you need, (including supermarket, more bars, restaurants, patisseries/ bakeries etc) is only 10 minutes away.

Would DEFINITELY be returning here again and also recommending to others, (hence my essay above, was worth every minute of writing!)
Thank you Maggie!

Thank you very much for a fantastic compliment for Casa de Vista De Montahna.I am so glad you enjoyed your stay and everything was there for your requirements. I look forward to welcoming you again when you are ready.
