This tastefully modernised detached single storey cottage nestles in a delightful wooded river valley and is surrounded by beautiful countryside on the edge of the Exmoor National Park. Converted from an 18th century grain store, with its pine furnishings the cottage offers a relaxing rural retreat. The lawned and partially fenced garden area also offers an ideal place for leisurely meals or a glass of wine at the end of an active day. Although only a 2 mile scenic drive to the market town amenities of Barnstaple the cottage also offers an ideal base for those wishing to explore Exmoor, enjoy spectacular coastal scenery and surf washed golden sandy beaches or just relax and unwind surrounded by the natural beauty of this most beautiful part of Devon. Priory Cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway outside of school holidays or can provide additional accommodation for larger family parties using Priory House adjacent to the Cottage at any time of the year.

Please note that the Cottage is not available individually during school holidays between March to August, Christmas and New Year weeks.
Accommodation: Ground Floor. Open plan studio living/sleeping area with TV and DVD and bedroom area with double. Kitchen/dining area with gas hob, electric oven, microwave, washer/dryer, fridge and freezer. Shower room with shower cubicle, WC and basin.
Facilities and Services: Linen and Towels. Gas CH. No smoking. 1 pet welcome (but garden not dog proof). No cot is provided please bring your own travel cot. Garden furniture. Outhouse to store bicycles/surfboards and dry wetsuits (shared with house). Ample off road parking. Short breaks available. 4pm arrival time.
Arr/Dep for weekly bookings is Friday.

"A beautiful well equipped property for two"
As we had a large group staying over the New Year period we rented both the main house and the cottage. However the cottage could be easily rented alone without feeling restricted to the house. The cottage is beautifully decorated and furnished to the same very high standards as the main house and is completely self contained.
The cottage has lots of space and if rented with the house provides a great escape for a couple or older relatives that need a bit of privacy or space away from the bigger group in the house.
