Barn Owl Cottage is cosy and well equipped and features superb comfortable furnishings. It is the perfect place to stay, relax and unwind.

Upstairs there is a master bedroom with a king-size, four-poster bed and en-suite shower room, with it's own 32" LCD tv. There is also a single bedroom and a separate WC.

Downstairs you will find a fabulous fully fitted oak kitchen/dining room, which is well equipped with every facility you would expect, including an lcd tv. Wander into the lounge and a lovely stone fireplace, woodburner, 42" LED widescreen television, DVD, and CD Hi-Fi will greet you. There is also a comfortable twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom and overbath shower.

Fully fitted and furnished to an extremely high standard throughout, what more could you ask for? Barn Owl Cottage has a total of 3 bedrooms and sleeps a maximum of 5 guests.

There is a children's adventure playground onsite, with trampolines, swings and climbing frame. A range of quality new mountain bikes, adults, teenagers and child's, have now been added, cycle from Barn Owl and join the famous nearby Tarka Trail - the 180 mile dedicated scenic cycling and walking route.

Our pool and spa, which is heated to around 36c with spa and swimjets, and leisure complex is for the exclusive use of guests in our five luxury cottages.

The Barnstaple area

Barnstaple is the commercial centre of the region, combining sophisticated shopping with the bustling atmosphere of markets and speciality shops. The modern Green Lanes Shopping Centre compliments the traditional Pannier and Craft Markets held since 1855 in the Pannier Market Hall.

This attractive market town is the oldest and largest town in North Devon, nestling in the Taw valley on the other side of the estuary which the Saxons first settled in Barnstaple (Barum) over 1000 years ago.

The Long Bridge, crossing the tidal River Taw was thought to have been built in the 12th and 13th centuries and in Litchdon Street are located the Penrose Almshouses built in the early 17th century.

“A great find, can't wait to return” Trampolines, games room, swimming pool, badminton court, were all enough to sustain the interests of our 6, 9 and 15 year old. We had to drag them away in order to visit the fantastic local beaches. Exceptionally friendly hosts too.

“Warm,Cosy cottage with wonderful spa pool” Barn Owl Cottage has everything you would need for a winter break. We visited with our daughter,son in law and two year old grandaughter. The configuration of the rooms afforded us all a good degree of privacy but with a spacious sitting room and kitchen ideally equipped for two families. We used the spa pool and sauna every evening. It is kept wonderfully heated so was just right for our grandaughter to enjoy. Just what you want after a cold day sightseeing. A highlight of the holiday for us was that we were able to hire lovely trail bikes at a very reasonable price from the owners and cycled along the estuary to Braunton and back. The Tarka trail is only a very short distance from Combrew Farm and you can cycle safely for many miles. We have stayed in the cottages at Combrew Farm at least half a dozen times and would thoroughly recommend them.

“Well equipped and brilliant” Really great place, all the little extras and the friendly family really make the difference. We loved cycling on the Tarka trail and though that the new addition of the bike rental was really helpful and the bikes were well maintained. There were plenty of different things to do and see and all of the facilities were used and appreciated. We travelled as part of a large group, and the owners made the effort to accommodate all of our needs including a large spacious table and all of the tableware to match. All in all a brilliant stay and we look forward to going back next year.

“Peaceful but with lots to do” Visited Combrew for a week at the beginning of July. Weather wasn't great but the accommodation was fabulous. We played badminton, had a swim every day, used the gym, visited the rabbits, bounced on the trampolines. It was great. The house was lovely and cosy and had a really homely feel about it. It was everything I could want in a holiday cottage. The only problem was that we were only there for one week! I cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough.

“Without doubt the very best cottage holiday we have ever stayed at.” Top class five star cottage. TV in the kitchen, TV in the lounge and even TV in the bedroom. The owners Sue and John were so helpful. One evening my phone needed charging and when asked could they recommend a different place to eat as we needed a change from the good ones we had tried they suggested a place and even booked it on their phone for us. The Cottage was sited in a great area, peaceful but yet close to all the many places the area had to offer. The onsite indoor swimming pool was the best and warmest we have ever used. We normally don't stay in cottages where dogs are accepted but everything was spotlessly clean.

“Very kiddie-friendly” Stayed at Barn Owl cottage with hubby, 11month old and 2 year old daughters. Stairgates,highchairs/cots all provided. Lovely warm pool perfect for the girls to play in, and spa bubbles great fun! Had the pool to ourselves every morning, didn't really notice there were other people staying at the same time as us. Chickens, trampolines much appreciated. Lots here if the weather's not great. When they're older we'll get them into badminton, table tennis and pool! Plan to return, possibly with extended family in cottage next door.

“Charming, friendly, welcoming and, just, lovely!!” Comfortable, clean with very good amenities. Spacious, yet cosy and warm. Friendly and welcoming proprietor. Lovely pool and wonderful position to explore the magnificent North Devon coast. We would highly recommend the cottages and would definitely return for another visit.

“A peaceful country 'home away from home'” We spent two weeks at Barnowl Cottage after touring around the U.K for a month. The location was perfect for us, quiet, rural, but close to all the tourist attractions and shopping. It was a pleasure to come home to the cottage after a hard days sight-seeing, slip into the pool, then crank up the B.B.Q. The Tuckers are wonderful hosts who go the extra mile to make sure you enjoy your stay.

“Yet another stay at this comfortable cottage” This was our fifth stay at Barn Owl Cottage. We found, as expected, that standards of cleanliness, comfort and level of equipment had all been maintained. Also there is always a very warm welcome, so we look forward to further visits!
