I am so glad we found this place,we stayed here for two weeks over Christmas while visiting family. This is a beautiful house with everything you could possibly need while staying there. The lodge has a wonderful welcoming feel to it, we felt at home as soon as we walked in.The little touches that Phil the owner provides such as fresh flowers, chestnuts are really lovely. The rooms in the lodge are beautiful, the stove in the room is great, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen has everything you could possibly want and the bathroom is huge !!!!! There is a lot of parking space and a lovely big garden which would be great to spend time in during warmer months. Having lived nearby I know the lodge is in a great position to explore Yorkshire from. It is a great base for day trips out and there is plenty to do nearby, some lovely walks, nice restaurants (great indian restaurant) etc. Having broadband was a bonus for our teenager, he also enjoyed bike riding, walking being able to order from Chicos pizza takeaway, and going to the cinema (there are no takeaways or cinemas where we live) !! in fact we didn't hear 'I'm bored' at all. I think the best recommendation you can give any accommodation is whether or not you would return, we have booked again for next year. I was actually sad to leave the lodge and we are all looking forward to returning. |

The Lodge is a bit difficult to find, but Phil provided us with directions and was there at the property to greet us & give a warm Yorkshire welcome, he showed us round the Lodge and grounds & recommended a local walk...which we did! Bowled over by the quality and standard & size of accomodation. Lovely to have fresh flowers around, us ladies thought it was a really nice touch. Lots to do, very relaxing, would definitely go back, next time for longer, two nights was definitely not enough time to fully appreciate the surroundings. The beds are very comfortable, quality bedding too, great nights sleep. Fabulous bathroom & ensuite, well equipped kitchen, georgeous lounge, comfy leather sofas. Flat screen TV excellent reception, DVD player if required & two digital radios!! Perfect quality accomadation for two couples or maybe up to four ladies wanting some chill out time together. Oh yes! big garden too with loungers. Fantastic modern Indian Resatauarant close by, food & service was exceptionally good, What more can l say...give it a try....the very best of what Yorkhire has to offer..l feel l've found a liitle gem to share with people who appreciate quality so l'm happy to share..... Thanks for everything Phil, we'll see you again.. A five star rating for sure Caroline & Val P.S. l hope this shows as 5 stars & an Excellent top rating as l've had difficulty registering my rating with Trip Advisor at the beginning of review. |
