Cottage | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 2
This is the third cottage that Bethan and Gary have renovated in Dyffryn Ardudwy near Barmouth. They must be a great time as this one is every bit as stylish and well thought out as the first two. Luxuriously appointed and tastefully decorated this cottage offers the perfect retreat for couples looking to explore this beautiful part of North Wales.
It's open plan living down stairs. A sumptuous L shaped leather sofa facing onto a modern flat screen TV with windows facing out towards the flowerbeds and the fields beyond. The kitchen is compact but well equipped including a modern oven and hob as well as integral fridge and plenty of storage space. A nice wood breakfast bar separates the two areas.
The sense of style and elegance continues upstairs to the bedroom. A large super-king sized double (6? wide) bed sits centrally against a floral wall with matching pillows and bedside lamps. Little touches like the chrome topped balustrades and retro alarm clock finishing the room off nicely.
The adjoining en-suite includes a large spacious and powerful shower as well as a basin and wc. The lighting here and throughout the cottage is subtle and refined. There's also a second wc on the ground floor.
It's worth pointing out that, with professional cottage owners like Bethan and Gary, guests can feel confident the cottage will be spotlessly clean and well presented each and every time they visit.

The guests have the use of a small private patio area outside the cottage. Perfect for a early evening glass of wine perhaps. A little further along there's a larger shared garden as well. Here guests can enjoy fabulous views across the coastline right out to the distant flash of Bardsey Island Lighthouse.
In the summer most people will visit the cottage because of the miles of sandy beaches nearby. And there certainly worth the trip no matter what time of year you decide to stay. But this particular corner of Snowdonia also offers walkers a wealth of undiscovered bridleways and footpaths in some of the most beautiful scenery of the National Park.
There are two pubs in the village both serving food as well as a post office, small grocery store and garage. The larger towns of Barmouth and Harlech are 5 miles to the south and north respectively.
Snowdonia is well none for a range of adventure sports activities. Mountain biking, white water rafting, gorge walking etc can all be enjoyed whilst using the cottage as your base.
