The North Wales region

The Barn is located in the southern part of the Snowdonia National Park, which is much less busy for walkers. It is well placed to be a base for exploring the whole park, which offers a wide range of activities for all ages and interests. There are miles of beach on the Cardigan Bay coast. There are castles to explore, mountains to climb and a wide range of outdoor activities available.

Barmouth is a busy holiday town with a fine beach. The Barn is 1.5 miles from the town up a steep narrow road. You have the option to visit the town, where there are the usual cafes and pubs, donkeys, fun fare and seaside facilities, or stay up the hill, where you will find peace and quiet, a base for lonely walks, a place for children to play and explore, or just somewhere to sit with a book and soak up the wonderful view from the top of the adjacent knoll.
