The North Wales / Snowdonia / Gwynedd region
To the West lies Snowdonia, a magnet for climbers and walkers and on the Llyn Peninsula you will find some of the best sailing and surfing beaches in North Wales. The Isle of Anglesey is surrounded by 125 miles of coastline and a host of historical sites whilst the North Wales Borderlands is dominated by the spectacular Clwydian hills and interesting market towns on Chester's doorstep.
For families the Coastal Resorts offer a wide range of exciting and fun filled attractions, plus a wide programme of events and evening entertainment. This website aims to give you all the tourist information you need to ensure that your visit to North Wales is one you will remember and wish to repeat.
Barmouth area
Barmouth is one of the most picturesque towns along the West coast of North Wales and is surrounded by the majestic Snowdonia National Park.
It’s a traditional seaside resort – an ideal holiday destination for people of all ages – with soft golden sands, beautiful coastal waters and rolling mountains.
It is a winner of the prestigious European Blue Flag Award for beaches.
The harbour is a hive of activity in the summer season with people enjoying a range of Water-sports and Fishing opportunities, or you can just have a drink in one of the harbour-side cafes and watch the world go by. Perched on the mountain side above the harbour is old Barmouth, with its quaint cottages, steep lanes and spectacular views over the harbour. You can also walk across Barmouth bridge spanning the Mawddach estuary and take advantage of a range of walking trails. There are also many opportunities to spot the local wildlife along the estuary and the country lanes.
Barmouth enjoys a relatively mild climate which makes it an ideal location for out of season holidays and short breaks at any time of the year.
The town has a large range of shops, pubs, cafés, restaurants and a nightclub. During the Spring/Summer holiday season there are amusement arcades and a funfair !
How to get there
If you are traveling by car from London the trip takes about 4 and half hours. From Birmingham it is 2 and a half hours. 2 Hours from Manchester.

Fantastic view, location perfect, fantastic rooms and I’m sure we will love it here. End of holiday and we don’t want to leave but it has been a fantastic family fun holiday, don’t worry we’ll be back again another time.
Delightful place to stay in an excellent location, beautiful views from the balcony.
Nicest house we have ever stayed in and we have been coming to Barmouth for 10 years – We’ll be back!
