House | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 6
A charming and rarely available Grade 2 listed Walter cottage set in the heart of the Sindlesham conservation area on the edge of Wokingham, Berkshire. Originally part of the Bearwood Estate, this property dates back to 1867 and once belonged to John Walter's (Victorian owner of the Times newspaper) country estate.
The house has many beautiful period features and has been lovingly restored to combine the character and charm of a period property with the style and comfort of modern living.
Upper Terrace sits on a pretty road of properties built in the same style, all part of the Sindlesham Estate and benefitting from playing fields opposite, some nice local walks and the The Walter Arms gastro pub just a few minutes walk up the road. There is a cricket club and tennis court a few minutes walk away, as is the renowned Nirvana Spa with its swimming pools and luxury treatment rooms. Sainsburys is a few minutes by car, as is the local train station (both of which can also be walked in 15 minutes.) Wokingham, the local town is 10 minutes drive away and benefits from a good selection of restaurants, shops and pubs and has a farmers market every week where you can buy local produce.
Access to the M4 at junction 10 is only a 5-10 minute drive and the property is therefore very well located for access to Reading, Windsor, Ascot, Henley as well further west to Oxford and further east to London. The train to London Waterloo takes an hour.
Pets welcome if permission is requested.
