Cherry Tree was an ideal getaway from the hussle of Christmas and was a relaxing home from home with style and character to enjoy. The cottage is spacious for 4/5 people with really comfy sofas and a gas flame fire for extra warmth and that snug feeling over the winter break. There was even a Xmas tree to add a festive feel. The kitchen is well equiped for when we decided to cook but with so many fantastic gastro pubs in the area this was seldom for us. A great guide to all local attractions is provided along with games and extra items to help for all eventualities. Can't recommend this place enough and will not hesitate to stay again next year. |

Cherry Tree Cottage is a rare find. It is home from home. We stayed for 3wks with 2 toddlers & a dog. Everything we required was waiting for us on arrival. Owners couldn't be more accommodating, to the extent we felt like we were staying in a friend's home. The setting perfectly encapsulates the magic of the Vale, with delightful views from the master bedroom & beautiful Belvoir walks from the second you leave the cottage. Nottingham is less than 30mins drive, an indoor play area 10mins drive away (useful if it rains), & 2 top class pubs within 5miles. We will definitely return, although I suspect this is a holiday home which will come to be booked up way in advance as it becomes more well known. I'm unsure what star rating the cottage has been awarded, but if you're looking for a beautiful cottage, with furnishings you would be happy with a home, then it deserves 5 stars. |

The house is very well located between Nottingham and Grantham - we booked it for our son's graduation in Nottingham. Beautiful area with a large amount of country pubs serving excellent food. The cottage is beautiful and very traditional and therein lay our only problem with our stay - there was only one bathroom with no freestanding shower and no additional toilet. This may be ok for a couple and perhaps a couple with young children but for four adults it was a bit tricky. We loved everything else about the house and my husband and I would go back if we were on our own! A home away from home! |
Guestbook for Cherry Tree Cottage
Just a short note to say a big thanks for our lovely short stay in Cherry tree cottage. We had the best of times and it was truely a home from home from the comfy couches and beds to the homely kitchen. We have raved about it to friends and family and will hopefully re visit you at some stage in the future. New years eve at the Windmill was great Cheers January 2012
Thanks very much we had a lovely break and a large part of the enjoyment has been the lovely cottage. (Feb 2011)
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Midlands. Were so pleased to be situated where we were. The cottage was great. Tks for the info. We drove around the villages which we loved. Had lunch in a village pub; fish & chips in Bottesford. Also spent a day in Nottingham - took the children ice skating. Enjoyed the Market area there. Thank you for your help with info when we arrived. We were very appreciatve to have milk, coffee etc on arrival. We arrived late & had not had time to shop. We would love to visit the area in summer & enjoy the walks etc. We would most definately return to Cherrytree Cottage. The Higgins family, Durban, South Africa (Jan 2011)
The cottage was lovely and homely and in great condition. We'd recommend the Windmill in Redmile to others - very welcoming and great food. We had a very relaxing break - thank you. Looking forward to next time. (Joanne, Dec 2010)
