Home description

The flat date from around the year 1900 and have original "Escofet" tiled floors and period features. We have worked carefully with designers and specialists to retain the original features whilst bringing the apartment into the 21st century by including stylish modern kitchens, bathrooms, comfortable living rooms with sofas, satellite television, DVD and CD player, dining area with table and chairs and period balcony looking over great period architecture. The whole flat is hot/air conditioning.

The Costa Brava/Catalonia region

With a warm Mediterranean climate, Barcelona and Catalonia are in the perfect location for year-round breaks. The city of Barcelona with it's wonderful architecture, culture, museums, music and arts festivals and restaurants speaks for itself. The seaside resorts of Sitges and the Costa Brava as well as the city of Girona are all reachable from Barcelona in about one hour and you can reach the Pyrenees in about two hours.

Barcelona / Central Barcelona area

One of the most vibrant, cosmopolitan cities in Europe, Barcelona offers everything from sunbathing on the beach to beautiful modernist and gothic tourist sites!

Surrounded by mountains and sea, the city of Barcelona has a picturesque setting. The lovely sandy beach is safe for swimming and runs along the mediterranean sea.

As well as exploring the city itself, you can make day trips to the beautiful Catalan countryside, the city of Girona and the Costa Brava. Portaventura for the kids is only an hour's drive away.

Barcelona offers a range of activities to suit children from 0 to 90; great nightlife, gourmet food, good weather, beautiful parks, stylish shopping; a top-class aquarium, zoo and funfair at the top of a mountain.

When it comes to eating out, there is an abundance of great restaurants offering a wide range of cuisine from simple tapas to Michelin-starred restaurants. There is also a good selection of bars and cafes where you can sip your drinks late in the evening and watch the world pass by.

As many other European regions, Barcelona has well defined seasons in which temperatures and general weather are fairly predictable. Being a coast city, the relative humidity level is very high, always around 70%.

The warmest season is between June to August, with temperatures that sometimes can go higher than 30 degrees (Celsius), perfect for a holiday close to the sea. Enjoy the beaches and pools, walk the city wearing light clothing or just relax and have a cold drink at the various terraces available in the city.

How to get there

Fly to Barcelona (BCN) airport with BA, Iberia, Monarch, FlyGlobeSpan, ClickAir and Easyjet. From there you can catch the airport bus, train or a taxi into the centre of Barcelona in less than 30 minutes. The bus fare is around 4 Euro; taxi around 25 Euro.

Fly to Girona or Reus airports (Ryanair and Easyjet) from where you can catch a transfer bus into Barcelona (about 80-90 minutes).

Travel by train to Barcelona Sants station (from Madrid, France or the South of Spain). Then catch the metro to the Sweet Home Barcelona apartment.

Travel by train to Franca station (from France including Elipsos overnight sleeper train from Paris). Then take a taxi, metro or walk to the Sweet Home Barcelona apartment.

The apartments are 10 minutes walk from the main coach terminus (Estación del Norte).

Kitchen
The long, Italian kitchen is fully equipped and has a dishwasher, microwave, oven, washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, coffee maker and ceramic hob. Everything you need to cook a great meal including crockery and cutlery for four people is supplied.

Living/Dining Room
The extendable table seats four on comfortable chairs. Two large sofas, TV, DVD and CD player for relaxing. 3 metre tall French windows open out onto a small balcony.

Main Bedroom
The main bedroom has a comfortable king-size bed and fitted wardrobes. Sets of cotton linen are provided for each bed in both bedrooms. The bedroom has French windows opening out to a small balcony.

Second Bedroom
The second bedroom contains a double bed with fitted wardrobe. The bedroom has French windows opening out to a small patio.

Bathroom
The beautifully-finished bathroom has been beautifully finished with a luxury shower, toilet and basin. Sets of bathroom towels are provided for each guest.

Conditions

Smoking is only allowed on the balcony, but not inside the apartment.

Refundable breakages deposit of 300 Euro cash required on arrival, to be refunded in cash on departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).

The flat is in a residential community and excessive late night noise is not permitted.

This will take you to the reservations page of the flat. You can either pay in full now by credit card or make a deposit to secure your booking. If you choose to pay a deposit, the balance will be paid in cash when you arrive here. A damage deposit of 200 Euro is payable in cash on arrival and refunded in cash on departure.

Thanks for a warm welcome and the very informative guide book, which we've used a lot specially the local shops you recommended. We went to the restaurant Casa Alfonso twice. The food is excellent and the place has lots of charm and originality.
Your apartment is well equipped with all we needed included towels, sheets etc. The location is perfect. We've been all over Barcelona in the beginning by foot. The last days taking the metro and buses, which made the transportation very easy. It could had been fun to borrow your bikes and rent some for our kids. We´ll try that next time.
Barcelona is a beautiful city. We´ll love to come back. The weather have been splendid and we've enjoyed to go to the beaches almost every day.
