Ref. 102322 - A typical building of the old city more than a hundred years old, completely redecorated and furnished, in a pedestrian street, it opens onto a charming square. The atmosphere and bustle of the traditional shops and antique stores, as well as the historical and beautiful corners of the Gothic Quarter, make it an attractive place to stay.
This large apartment comprises of two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds, one of the single beds is a fold-up bed. In the double room there is a clothes rack for hanging your clothes and two little bedside tables and lamps. The single room has a little chest of drawers for your clothes. The kitchen and living room are in a large open plan style and the living room has a balcony that looks out onto a little street. The sofa in the living room can be unfolded to accommodate two more people. The bathroom and shower are separate from the toilet and the apartment has a curious old fashioned wash-hand basin. There are also two portable heaters for winter and a fan for summer and the landlady also provides a travel cot for babies free of charge.
This apartment makes a pleasant stay for groups of friends (average age for group bookings must be over 35yrs or a family travelling together) who want to be in the heart of things but it has to be noted that it´s not the quietist of apartments and is not recommended for light sleepers.
The landlady will only accept groups of four or more if it is a family.

About this location
The Catalunia region
In Short: warren-like heart of the old town, complete with Roman ruins and Gothic architecture.
Highlights: La Seu Cathedral and its 13 resident geese, getting lost in the historic Jewish quarter, shops that are one-of-a-kind and the colourful nightlife of the Plaça Reial.
Getting around: metro lines run along both right and left borders of the Gòtico, while the transport hub of Plaça Catalunya (and its airport buses) sits just to the top. Mostly accessible on foot, through the windy medieval streets.
Why stay: fit in with a young, international crowd and never be too far from the thick of things.
Description: Laden with atmosphere, not to mention tiny bars, restaurants, and shops, Barcelonas Gothic quarter is easy to get lost in. Indeed, even though this area dates back to the Middle Ages, the Gótico is still home to the Catalan government, the town hall, and the citys cathedral, and very much the still-beating heart of the city. The sheer concentration of narrow streets makes this area packed full of things to see, do, eat and buy, while squares such as Plaça Sant Jaume and the Plaça Reial provide iconic focal points for the area, and Barcelona as a whole. Access to and from the Gótico is relatively simple as the area sits between the major thoroughfares of Via Laietana and Las Ramblas. A significant part of the areas charm derives from the fact that the majority of it is pedestrianised, which makes immersing yourself in all things medieval that bit easier.
