The Costa Brava/Catalonia region
As many other European regions, Barcelona has well defined seasons in which temperatures and general weather are fairly predictable. Being a coast city, the relative humidity level is very high, always around 70%.
The warmest season is between June to August, with temperatures that sometimes can go higher than 30 degrees (Celsius), perfect for a holiday close to the sea. Enjoy the beaches and pools, walk the city wearing light clothing or just relax and have a cold drink at the various terraces available in the city.
Barcelona / Central Barcelona area
This part of Barcelona is perhaps the most original area of the city since its buildings show a wide variety of sculptures and monuments that correspond to different time periods making it an area which has undergone changes through time. Hence, it is not strange to find a 10th century building nearby a contemporary sculpture. The contrast between modern and history gives this area a special charm.
The heart of the Barcelona old quarter, where the main political institutions are located, is Sant Jaume Square, opposite are City Hall and Generalitat buildings. An open and large square which leads to the main streets of the Roman city. From there, we can take a stroll and be lost in the precious side streets of the old quarter. We will find such squares like Sant Felip Neri, small and charming, or the most concurred and emblematic Plaza de Pi that deserves a lot of visits for its beauty and environment. We can experience here the typical atmosphere of town, with its all walk of life, street musicians, artists, picturesque bars and terraces, along with stores of design and avant-guarde fashion in the Ferran and Aviñó streets.
In fact, passing by Ferran street, we arrive to Plaza Real, one of the squares with more traditions and tourist interest in the city. Here, the characteristic multiculturalism of Barcelona converges and a heterogeneous public gather surprisingly. There are many bars of various styles where we can have a drink under welcoming arches, very characteristic of this square, where we also discover the presence of some original modernist lanterns, a work of Antoni Gaudí.
The Boquería market is not similar to any market in Barcelona. Actually this impressive modernist style building located in Las Ramblas, has been converted not only into a place where the Barcelonians go to buy fresh products, but also one of the main tourist attractions of the city without losing its charm. Take a stroll inside as it is an authentic pleasure for the senses. All kinds of food can be found here: fruits, vegetables, fish, exotic specialities and an infinity of surprises. It is worth discovering it by yourself.

July 2007
We had a wonderful stay in Barcelona, but much too short. The apartment was as represented and worked very well for us, both as to comfort and location. We found your staff to be very accommodating, efficient, professional and responsive. We want to give an extra thank you to your office staff in being so helpful with regard to assisting my daughter to retrieve items she left in Cuenca. It is clear to me that you are successful in providing a high level of service. I would love to return to Barcelona and when we do we certainly will want to stay in "our apartment" again. Best regards Eleanor
