The Costa Brava/Catalonia/Barcelona region
The Costa Brava of Catalonia is one of the most well known areas of Spain. Receiving millions of tourists per year. Catalonia consists of various areas. There is the Barcelones, the Tarragones, el Girones, and Lleida. Especially in the north, el Girones, you will be able to find several typical medieval villages which is a joy for the eye and definitely worth a day visit (inform for tours). The Tarragones is known for the many vineyards it has (the famous Penedes). Great for sightseeing and wine tasteries. In the Barcelones you will of course find Barcelona, offering you all a Mediterranean holidaymaker might wish for.
Sightseeing is well at hand. In the area you will find the Old Gothic city walls, the Santa Maria del Mar cathedral as well as the Catalonian parliament. Not far either is the famous Maremagnum, an enormous harbour leisure complex, where you can eat some typical 'tapas', shop or go to the Imax theatre. There is also the (Sea) Aquarium of Barcelona which is definitely worth a visit. Enjoy the loads of restaurants located nearby. The Barcelona beaches are also certainly worth a visit!
