About the home

Can Castell is in the centre of the picturesque mountain village of les Gunyoles d'Avinyonet, and surrounded by vineyards. It is the ideal setting for an enjoyable, peaceful holiday which nonetheless provides a wide choice of activities, and information is available on horse riding and other outdoor pursuits in the area as a permanent mountain biking circuit and walkings by Garraf Natural Park.

Can Castell has been carefully restored to provide all the comforts of the 20th century whilst maintaining the charming old wood beams and rustic furniture. Perfect for families. In the summer you can cool down in the small swimming-pool or enjoy eating on the big terrace 25m2 and relaxing in the sweet little garden. In the village there is a little food shop and a typical restaurant. Chemist, more food shops, bakery, restaurants and banks 5 min walking. Big supermarkets 2-3 Km.

Barcelona (38 km) and Tarragona (40 km), Montserrat mountains and monastery (40 km), near beaches in Sitges and Vilanova i la Geltrú (15 Km) and very close from Cava’s holds in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia and Wine Torres (10 Km).

The house has 3 double bedrooms, 2 single rooms, fully equipped kitchen with fire place, two complete bathrooms and two sitting rooms with TV (one is a wine cellar). One of the bedrooms communicates with the big terrace.

• There is a lovely quite corner with a bench ideal for relax reading.
• The pool is surrounded by grass ideal for the children plays.

The Costa Brava/Catalonia region

At a few Km from the village you can find a really beautiful place in the Foix lake and castle surrounded by forests, nice beaches in the popular and fashionable/good nightlife town of Sitges.

Also the monasteris of the Cisterian route, excursions to the Montserrat Monastery, the Roman city of Tarragona, Universal Port Aventura and Barcelona, ideal to sightseeing in the Sagrada Família, Parc Güell, Batlló House, The Pedrera... The Barcelona / Les Gunyoles d'Avinyonet area

Local places of interest include the old centre of Les Gunyoles d'Avinyonet, the Cuscó spring and the Garraf Natural Park. There is a sports centre with big and children swimmings pools at 1 km, horse riding and other outdoor pursuits.

You can visit wineries in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia (10 km) and in the nearby bigger town Vilafranca del Penedès (8 km) ther is the Wine Museum, Santa Maria Church, Indian houses, other historial monuments, a market every Saturday morning, restaurants, post office, cinemas, etc. There you can see the typical catalan human castles called 'Castellers'.

“Lovely rustic spanish house” This is a lovely house in a small quiet village. With our own hired transport we had easy access to the coast and many places of interest. The pool is small but great for cooling down and the terrace is a great area for the evenings. The house is well laid out, the kitchen small but usable - we were a group of 8 including a baby and the facilities were adequate. There was a short drive to a large supermarket and we walked down the hill (approx 10 mins) to the local shops, resturants and bars. I would reccomend this to anyone who wants the real feel of a local village away from the busy tourist spots The owners were friendly and helpful and gave us a bottle of wine as a nice welcome gesture
