Modern and stylish recently refurbished apartment. Large, spacious entrance with storage facilities. 3 bedrooms, all with their own fully tiled en-suite bathrooms. A fully fitted kitchen. Very large dining room/ living room areas. Air Conditioning. Beautifully furnished, with wooden floors throughout. Finished to a very high standard.

Further details outdoors

The apartment is located in a listed building, just off Placa Reial. The building itself is a typical traditional Catalonian building, with many original features. The entrance to the building is located on Calle Rauric, a narrow pedestrian only street, linking Calle Ferran to Placa Reial. The age of the building means that there is no elevator, but the apartment is located on the second floor, so access is relatively easy. This is one of the largest properties available in Barcelona and one of the few with full air-conditioning. Guests will be greeted and checked-in personally. A truly wonderful, unique apartment in the very heart of old Barcelona, ideal for exploring the Gothic area but close to the Marina, Port. The Metro station at Liceu is just two minutes walk.

Further details

This is a very large apartment by any standard and will comfortably accomodate six adults. In addition to the three bedrooms, there is a large annex attached to the living room that has two double futon style beds. These will comfortably cater for additional children or teens - parties of more than six will be considered depending on the ages of the children. All costs associated with the apartment are including in the price, including cleaning, electricity, and a personal meet and greet, and check out. (Note. not all apartments include a personal check-in). All street facing windows have typical small balconies but these are not designed as living space. There is a larger balcony off one of the main bedrooms facing into an inner courtyard, again, (other than for smokers), this is not designed as living space.

The Catalunia region

Barcelona offers it all bathed in sunshine! Steeped in history Ciutat Vella (Barri Gotic/La Ribera) boasts many of the ancient and medieval splendours. El Ravel and Port Vell run down to the sea and pulses to the beat of the citys night life. L'Eixample is the modern end of town and Passeig de Gracia is where you will find showcases like La Sagrada Familia (Gaudi). If you want to spend time on the beach Barceloneta is where you will want to be.

If you prefer to walk, rock climb, visit the Olympic village or visit museums and art galleries then you should visit Montjuic. A little further up is Gaudi Parc Guell. If football is your fancy then Camp Nou will attract you. Barcelona has something for everyone.

"Real Class"

I wouldn't normally be a big review writer but i saw a very negative review on this property and felt compelled to share my experience of this fantastic and classy apartment in the heart of my favourite city to visit .
I have been travelling to Barcelona for 11 years, twice yearly, sometimes for 4day football trips with friends and nephews, and other times for 2 week summer breaks. I came across this property in 2009 and have been returning to this apartment ever since, whenever it is free on my dates. It is my preference for any trip. I am booked to travel this May with a friend and 3 teenage kids, and I am back for a romantic 2 weeks in mid July ....it suits both trips
This apartment is right in the centre of gothic area and gives you a great sense of barca, Ok, there is the usual tight, smelly, busy streets and the usual late night hustle bustle of Barcelona but that is Barcelona, the real Barcelona is busy and alive. I have never had a problem in the local area and the kids go down to the local shops and they have never had any hassle.
The apartment is 10mins from the beach and close to all the main attractions, you can't get a better city break location.
The interior is finished to a very high standard and the design is open and comfortable. There is so much living area space in this place.

I cant really say much more , if you can get this place for when you are travelling to Barcalona , book it !

"Live like a local in the heart of things"

Barcelona proved a great location to visit over easter, particularly when our appartment was right in the heart of things but sufficiently up out of the action to give us a huge space to take it easy in and get a great nights sleep. I had read the earlier reviews but decided it was for us on balance and how right we were. The location is to die for, we took no public transport all week as we really didn't need to - our 5 year old had his scooter and away we went! a free walking tour from the nearby square ( dropped our laundry to the laundrette next door to the appartment entrance and collected it that evening - sorted!) an express tour of the opera house - easy walking distance, a morning in the nearby food market, fantastic and a quick scoot to the beach. We even got a Barca game in too. The entrance and stairs are low key but the appartment is anything but. A little grocery store across from the entrance could not have been handier and I did a quick browse of the internet at the internet cafe again next door to us. It was a very authentic location and holiday right in the centre of the gothic quarter - I'd go back in a heartbeat.

"Not nearly as well maintained as it appears, although quite large."

Things were not exactly as we expected, and we were disappointed that we did not hear from the owners when we reached out to them. We found the unit in a state similar to that described in an earlier … More

I hadn't been across to Barcelona in 6 mths and I needed to see things for my own eyes after the last two reports, so it was with great trepidation that I stepped out of the taxi onto Las Ramblas.

Protecting my young family and wheeling my luggage behind me I entered Placa Real.

The square was full of life on a fine spring day. People sitting around in the restaurants that line the edges of the square, drinking coffee, wine and eating tapas, indulging in that wonderful pastime of people watching.

We slowly crossed the square and entered into the narrow lanes that mark out the Gothic Centre. The lanes were showing the signs of the early morning daily city maintenance and clear-up . It was comforting to see that this daily city ritual continues in the area, keeping the old centre a magnet for global culture seekers.

I turned the corner onto our lane. Less than 2 minutes from the square and still within ear shot of its busy hum. The small SPAR supermarket (fresh milk, bread, coffee) , the internet café , the restaurant and the launderette all trading and open for business. Nothing out of the ordinary so far.

I bought some milk for a cup of tea to refresh us after our long journey. The shop keeper seeing we were tired and a little cranky after our trip gave my daughter a lollipop to cheer her up. It worked.

Opposite the SPAR is our building. Its old, its typical, the door doesn't look great. No change there.

I am probably bias so I will turn to a previous visitor and use her words to describe the scene.

“ We met in Placa Reial exactly on time and were led through the unknown alleys to the very nondescript door up those very dingy, unprepossessing, quite tawdry, steep, worn stairs into your spectacular apartment!”

We opened the door and entered. The stairs were as they always have been, I took great comfort from that. Similar to a worn dog eared book or favourite old toy showing it's age. Yet dry and secure.

Up those stairs and into this spectacular apartment. I was delighted, and when the latest review came in, I was more than happy to see it wasn't just me.

As replied previously, when visiting Barcelona a visitor has a number of options from the "Hilton Hotel" experience of a polished marble foyer entrance, or the Apartment experience living in and with the City. If you want a large apartment, central and in the heart of things, including a typical Gothic entrance, this apartment is for you.

Postscript: within half an hour of settling in we had a play date organised with the neighbours and their daughter.
