This stunning apartment is located in the medieval district of Barcelona’s Historic Centre known as El Born. It is a 5 minute walk from the Cathedral, 5 minutes from the beautiful palm-fringed marina, 10 minutes from the Ramblas, and is situated immediately behind the Picasso Museum.
The apartment itself provides real home from home comfort and every luxury to make your holiday accommodation really special. It is spacious with open plan areas in the living room, kitchen/dining room. It has high vaulted ceilings with exposed wooden beams in the living room and French windows leading out onto little wrought iron balconies. The Costa Brava/Catalonia region
The Catalonia that I love is made up of the small fishing villages of Cadaqués, Llafranc, Calella de Palafrugell, all unspoilt by mass tourism and an absolute delight to visit. If you prefer the mountains then you might like to drive through the foothills of the Spanish Pyrenees and stop off in the lovely flower-filled valleys and picturesque hill-top villages. But whether it's the sea or the mountains you like the most, Catalonia has something to offer just about everyone. If you are interested in cuisine then Catalonia is at the cutting edge of world trends with 3 of the 5 restaurants which have been awarded 3 Michelin stars in Spain located here, including 'El Bulli' voted 'Best Restaurant of the Year in 2006'. But you don't have to spend a lot to eat well here. The average standard of cooking is very high and very affordable. If Catalonia is the kingdom, then Barcelona has got to be the jewel in the crown with daily temperatures averaging 13ºC in winter and 28ºC in summer with guaranteed sunshine almost all year round.
Barcelona / Central Barcelona area
All of the follwing are either next to or not more than a 10 minute walk from the apartment: the Picasso Museum, the Cathedral, the Ramblas, the Gothic area, the Boqueria fresh food market, the palm-fringed marina where you can catch a cable car to the top of the Monjuic hill, the beach, the Aquarium, Imax cinema, the Ciutadella park, Mare Magnum, Port Olímpic, Textile Museum, Chocolate Museum, boat trips of the port, etc. The Bus Touristic stops just around the corner from the apartment and the nearest metro stop is 200m away if you would like to visit the Sagrada Familia and the Parque Güell which are located outside the city centre.
The entire area surrounding the apartment building in the El Born area of the historic centre is encased in enchanting tiny medieval interconnecting streets and alleyways. Bustling with life, these little streets house cafés, speciality food shops, small commercial and public galleries, design boutiques and a wide selection of excellent restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets. The area was recently described by Arthur Lubow in The New York Times as “having the energy of New York’s Lower East Side”.

ON ARRIVAL AT BARCELONA AIRPORT - Direct rail link from the airport to the Estación de Francia station, just a 2 minute walk from the apartement (left luggage facility available here if required) - Taxi directly to the apartment costs approx. 25 euros.
