The Borgo di Ribuio, an ancient rest place that originates from the 1700 d.c located in the hills of the fascinating and untouched valley of Mugello behind the beautiful city of art, Florence.

The structure is set in a marvelous and welcoming scenery context dedicated to receiving tourists where you find in the geography and the history of the territory to the maximum, mountains, hills and green valleys still uncontaminated, pure air, atmosphere, colours, sounds, smells that make the place truly magic.
The whole of Farmhouse district has been subjected to a careful and complex restoration carried out closely to the original and which dominates the valley that below is surrounded by a series of curves on a level that has a unique real estate architectural structure that puts forward the idea of an old resting place, privileged and protected as it was in it’s time. A private park with a little lake surrounds everything and is enclosed by oaks and cypress which form on the green spaces, here lies a swimming pool with a view that fades into an irregular shape (8x12 m) excavated in the fascinating hills dominating the Borgo and equipped with a solarium with trampoline and hydro-massage bath.

The Borgo di Ribuio is made up of 9 apartments, divided into 3 complexes built with individual entrances (for two people or for three) accompanied with complimentary furniture in line with the traditional colon style with a creative and personal taste of the owners.

The ideal place for unraveling magic moments and for tasting the unforgettable Tuscan recipes, accompanied with red wines of the home ground.

Our marvellous location: the Mugello Valley

The Craft of tradition
In the 14 th century, under the growing influence of the Florentine Republic, numerous new hamlets sprang up in Mugello. Economic activities, which became typical of the area, developed. Numerous arts and crafts form the rich tradition of Mugello. Much of this cultural tradition has been handed down to the present, like, for example, the commercial role that certain town centres have reserved: “trading” that has been going on for centuries in these “new” hamlets. The historical structure of the buildings, like the portico's, or the make-up of the open squares and the old roads, offer present-day visitors the opportunity to interrelate on a personal level in the different shops, stores and traditional craft manufacturers. A madieval Castle for your diner
The Medieval Castle ( ' Il Castelluccio ' ) is our property and it's close to your apartment. ( 10 minutes by car ). The Castle has been renovated carefully according to the original shape and is situated on the top of a rock that dominates the valley underneath. The wide valley is surrounded by many stone terracings that, together with the structure of the castle, revive memories of ancient times. The hotel is surrounded by a private park and fenced by oaks and cypresses, which alternate with many green areas. Here there is a nice swimming pool of irregular shape (7x12 mt), dug into the rock in front of the main tower entrance with Roman staircase (the tower is open from 15th March to 30th October). You can swim after your dinner !!

How to reach us:

- From Milano-Bologna:
Autostrada del Sole A1 south direction, for Firenze-Roma. Around only 18 Km before the Castle of Florence North turn off the Motorway exit " Barberino di Mugello ".

- From Napoli-Roma:
Autostrada del Sole A1 North direction for Firenze- Bologna. After about 18 Km from the castle of Florence North in the direction Bologna-Milano take the motorway exit " Barberino di Mugello ".

Straight after the exit of the motorway follow the road signs for" Borgo San Lorenzo “.
After about 1 km turn into the junction" Barberino di Mugello Centro / Carabinieri " and continue up until the stop.
Then turn left and continue right and the first roundabout (Abete gigante) in the direction“ Centro Barberino.
At the next roundabout ( Maschere di Ferro ) take the second exit in the direction“ Centro Barberino “ and at the traffic lights turn right into Via del Lavoro.
At the roundabout (Monumento di pietra serena agli Alpini) enter the second exit on the right (Via Enzo Ferrari ) and continue for about 1 km.
Pay a lot of attention when turning right into the Intersection with the Via di Castello looking out for our sign “ Borgo di Ribuio “ placed on the border of the carriageway.
Follow the last private signs placed along the farm carriageway road to arrive at your destination five minutes later.

My husband and I stayed for a couple of days and we enjoyed it very much. It is peaceful and quiet and Emanuele is a great and helpful host. Breakfast is pretty good. If you go on holidays, some of the restaurants are crowded and you have to drive for a while. Visit the lake that is near the accommodations. It has the most beautiful views.
