Can Xargay is a Traditional Millenial Catalan Villa of XI century. It is situated in the peaceful village of Mata and 2 km. far from Banyoles lake. Shops and restaurants are situated in a walking distance.
Its antiquity states it as one of the first houses of the Mata´s village. Situated at the Pla de l´Estany´s heart, 175 metres high. Privilegied place because it´s between the sea and the mountains.
In front of the country villa you can see the Rocacorba´s mountain range while in the north mountainside prevails the majestic Pirineu.
The villa has got a maximum capacity of 20 people with 8 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, a kitchen, a dining-room, a living-room, a reading room, a fireplace, a games room. A barbecue in the garden with a covered porch and a private swimming-pool of 6x3 meters with a hidromassage bench only for you, you don't have to share it with anybody else.

The Costa Brava/Catalonia region
There are a lot of interesting places to visit: -Banyoles lake, 2 km. from the villa -Girona city, 9 km. from the villa -Natural Park of Volcanic Zone, 15 km. from the villa -Figueres, 35 km. from the villa -Costa Brava beaches, 35 km. -Besalú village, 9 km. from the villa -Barcelona, 115 km. from the villa.
The climate of the Pla de l'estany region is the typically Mediterranean one. The proximity with the coast gives a soft temperatures during all the year. During the spring there are some sunny days with pleasant temperatures (from 8ºC at the night to 33ºC at the day or from 46ºF to 91ºF), which will allow you to enjoy the privileged natural environment. The summers, quite warm (from 15ºC to 35ºC or from 59ºF to 95ºF), they allow to carry out every type of aquatic activities. In the autumn, however, the rains are frequent and the temperature is from 8ºC to 28ºC or from 46ºF to 82ºF. The winters are soft and dry and the temperature is from 0ºC to 20ºC or from 32ºF to 68ºF.
Banyoles / Porqueres area
The most interesting place in Banyoles to visit, is the Olympic Banyoles lake that it was the olympic city of rowing at 1992. The lake represents the origin and main symbolic identity of the town of Banyoles. The lake and its associated lacustrine basin are regarded as the largest karstic stretch on the Iberian Peninsula, and make up an environmental system of enormous value. It's located to the West of the town, it was declared part of the Plan for Spaces of National Interest (Pla d’Espais d’Interès Nacional, PEIN) by the Catalonia Generalitat. In 2003, it was included in the Ramsar List of Wetlands of International Importance, and has been put forward for inclusion in the Natura 2000 Network for the Mediterranean region. In addition, the Banyoles Town Council, as well as the local population, are petitioning for it to be declared a Nature Reserve.
Besides, it is important to visit the Banyoles town too!. Banyoles’ historical centre houses the origins of the medieval town and the town itself. It is an historical nucleus built in the shade of the Sant Esteve Monastery. The Benedictine cenobium eventually led to the foundation of the old town, which took place from the 9th century onwards. Cobbled streets, little squares and cozy corners, civil and religious buildings, art and the water flowing through the canals from the lake all come together in a unique town centre that merits special attention.

Can Xargay is situated 25 km. from the International Airport of Girona-Costa Brava. In this airport there is Ryanair company, a fly company with low prices.

There is a nearby setting down point for vehicles and a dropped kerb at the setting down point. Corridors and doors are wide enough for easy passage, and there should be no steps to the main areas of the property Bedroom: There is a bedroom on the ground floor. Bedrooms is suitable for wheelchair user and all main sockets, light switches and alarm cords within reach from a seated position. Bathroom: The bathroom has got a wheel-in (level access) entry to the shower or bath. There is a fold-down shower seat. Taps and grab rails are accessible from a seated position. There are enough space to transfer from chair to toilet safely with appropriate handrails. Kitchen facilities: There is a microwave at an accessible height.
