Home description

Situated on the charming Whiddy Island, this pretty stone cottage is set in an isolated location, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The property offers simple, comfortable accommodation that is both welcoming and spacious. With two bedrooms able to sleep up to four people, the cottage also comes with a sitting room and open fire, a sun room with dining table and a small pebble beach at the foot of the garden, boasting wonderful coastal views. The surrounding area offers many great activities and amenities, making this an excellent holiday spot for the whole family.

Bantry / Whiddy Island area

Located just off the coast of Bantry in West Cork, Whiddy Island is reached via a daily 10-minute ferry ride from the town of Bantry itself. This popular island boasts a variety of stunning views as well as a pub and small restaurant - serving locally caught sea food including fresh crab and mussels. The surrounding area offers numerous water sports facilities in addition to many great coves and inlets, which provide excellent places for swimming. Visitors can enjoy fantastic fishing, bird watching, cycling and walking whilst just a short ferry crossing away is the market town of Bantry - situated at the head of the bay from which this city takes its name. For more specialised amenities, visitors can take a trip to the city of Cork, situated just an hour’s drive away.

Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the 'Winter' period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.

Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the 'Low' and 'Mid' periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.

'Last Minute Breaks' (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the 'LOW', 'MID', 'HIGH', 'PEAK', 'XMAS' and 'NEW YEAR' periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
