Bojurland Block A (apartment)

Home description

Our apartment is decorated with furnishings and ornaments from the town, it is a bright and airy apartment that will comfortably suit 4 adults and the airbed with electric pump affords the added flexibility for 6 friendly adults or 4 adults and 2 children. The sun shines in the apartment all day and it is always warm. It has beautiful views of the mountains and the gondola is a short mini bus ride away which are free from reception every 15 minutes.

The apartment is in the main block which has an underground passage to the heated indoor pool with integrated Jacuzzi (in the corner of pool), sauna, steam room, gym, table tennis and massage room. Ski lockers are also available in the basement.

There are a couple of small general stores just around the corner in either direction on drama str where most every day groceries, crisps and chocolate, beer and wine (usual emergency supplies) can be bought. There is a large supermarket on the outskirts of town about 25 min walk away and a smaller supermarket in the centre of town about 10 minutes away. The apartment is also about 10 mins walk away from town centre restaurants but there are restaurants all over Bansko.

The Pirin/Rhodope Mountains region

The Pirin mountains are part of the Pirin National Park, piste maps are available and there is skiing in other towns/resorts around Bansko too if you fancy a day trip. Off piste skiing and tours can be booked through Steve at Early Bird Transfers. The mountains also offer great walking or cycling holidays in the summer and there are equestrian centres near Bansko to explore by horse back. There is also a Pirin Golf and country club near by.

Bansko / Bojurland Village area

There are lots of restaurants to choose from in Bansko, you can easily eat in a different restaurant every night. There is an English pub called Lion Pub on the corner of Pirin Street and Glazne not too far from the gondola station. Most of the restaurants are traditional bulgarian mehana serving traditional dishes of pork chicken and beef. Steaks, stews, skewers and sizzling skillets. There is a pizza restaurant in Pirin Street called Patio Pizza, but most restaurants include pizza on the menu.

As Bansko is still developing as a resort, new restaurants are opening all the time. There is now an Irish Pub, another English style pub called the Crown and an Italian restaurant.

Bansko also has an ice skating rink, bowling alley and casino.

How to get there

Direct flights to Sofia from the UK are available from either British Airways, Easy Jet, Wizzair or Bulgaria Air. Other European airlines fly to Sofia but will stop in their home country en-route.

There are plenty of car hire companies at Sofia airport and their desks are directly opposite you as you enter the arrivals hall in Terminal 2.
There are a couple of car hire places in Pirin Street, so you could get a transfer from the airport and just hire a car once in Bansko if you don�t fancy driving yourself from the airport. Once in Bansko however, you will not need a car to get around as the town is small enough to walk around.

The apartment is on the third floor and there is no lift in the block, however we have never found this a problem as cases only have to go up and down the stairs at the beginning and end of your holiday.

The apartment has laminated floors, tiled shower room, tiled entrance area with coat hooks and a small balcony.

Outside there are a couple of swings and a climbing frame, a few car parking spaces. The entrance to the complex has a barrier which is manned.
