The Pirin/Rhodope Mountains region
Beat the credit crunch, now has never been a better time to ski in Bansko. Ski Luxury at a bargin price.Bansko is Bulgaria's newest and No 1 ski resort. Bansko has a fantastic snow record, with one of the longest ski seasons starting mid December until the end of April.
There are 14 pistes with over 65km of ski runs. Over the past few years 40 million Euros has been invested in a new gondola, snow guns and other high tech facilities.
Bansko / St John Hill area
St John Hill is located in the picturesque district of Sveti Ivan Hill, dominating over the town of Bansko at the foot of the Pirin Mountain.
The ancient town of Bansko which sits at the base of the Pirin Mountain, on which all the skiing takes place, dates back thousands of years and is a World Heritage Site.
There are lots of Mehanas (traditional restaurants) that line the cobbled streets of the old town, despite Bulgaria joining the Euro they offer excellent food at ridiculously cheap prices. Great night life, including the 'Happy End' Bar located at the bottom of the gondola.
How to get there
Sofia is the closest Airport to the town of Bansko. Transfers from the airport to the resort take approximately 2 and a half - three hours depending upon traffic. For more information regarding transfers and car hire - please contact us directly as we have negotiated some excellent rates.
