About the home

A fully furnished three bedroom ski chalet with integral sauna, with upstairs bathroom, separate shower room, living room, kitchen external terrace and balcony to main bedroom. The complex also contains plenty of facilities to keep people occupied including a tennis court, football pitch,indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness centre, a steam room. a sauna, jacuzzis, massage rooms, an on site bar, and a restaurant with external barbecue area. There is also a children's play room. There will be local charges applicable for some of these facillities.

The chalet benefits from a sauna, a log fire, wifi internet availability, Bulgarian satellite TV (premium sky channels not available), a DVD player a balcony to the main bedroom, an external terrace and a designated parking space.

All prices quoted are on a self catering basis only. Local charges will apply for some of the facilities provided on site, although the use of the swimming pools is included in the price advertised. All prices quoted are in euros, although bookings can be taken in sterling by arrangement. The local currency is the Bulgarian lev.

The prices quoted for the use of the shuttle bus are to be paid to the local management team.

The price includes for the cleaning of the chalet once during the stay and then again at the end of the stay, for a weekly booking. The cleaning price does not cover cleaning of kitchen cutlery and crockery and pots and pans, if this is left out for the cleaners, there will be an additional 15 euro charge at the end of the holiday.

We cannot accept any liability for factors beyond our control, such as strikes, power cuts, adverse weather conditions, lack of snow etc. No refunds will be available for items such as this and all guests should take out separate travel insurance to cover such eventualities.

Conditions

A 200 euro deposit is to be provided and to be lodged with the site management, this will be returned at the end of the week providing there are no damages.

The Pirin/Rhodope Mountains region

An area of outstanding natural beauty located in a valley, between three mountain ranges, the Rila Mountains to the North, the Pirin Mountains to the South and the Rhodope to the East. Temperatures in the Winter are ideal for skiing and allow skiing from mid December to the End of March.

The summer temperature can reach 30 degrees and is ideal for summer holidays.

The Greek beaches are approximately a 2.5 hour drive to the south.

The Bansko area

Bansko is a traditional Mountain village which has grown in the last 5 years into a modern functional ski resort.

There is still a lot of the old town charm around the central square, as well as all the facilities you would expect of a modern ski resort, including, an ice rink, casinos, 10 pen bowling, karaoke bars, British theme bars with Sky sports, and numerous local 'mehanas' which are traditional Bulgarian restaurants which have open log fires and very often have traditional folk music. Prices in these restaurants are still very reasonable.

Bansko and Razlog is a fast up and coming year round resort. Bansko is now the premier ski resort in Bulgaria with 70 km of ski runs, snow cannons, lit runs providing night skiing to the resort, a snowboard park with jumps half pipes etc.

The ski facilities cater for all standards and make it the perfect family resort. The beginners slopes have different grades of slope providing something for even the most nervous beginner. There are then blue runs and red runs for intermediates and 2 very challenging black runs for the advanced skier. The main black run is named after Alberto Tomba and was designed by him and is as tough as anything you will find in the alps. Further skiing is also available at Dobrinishte and this area is currently being developed to provide more runs.

The complex is approx 10 minute drive from the Gondola station. The complex provides a shuttle bus service for a cost of 2.5 euros per day if you do not hire a car. The shuttle bus service can also be booked as a taxi service to take people to and from Bansko and the surrounding areas in the evening. The cost of this is 20 euros for the return trip.

In the summer the area is rich in natural thermal spas, and there are many spa resorts within easy distance of the complex principally at Dobrinishte and Banya. There is also a brand new golf complex just installed 5 minutes from the complex. This was designed to championship standard by Ian Woosnam. This is currently restricted to members only access at present. The course also has a smaller 9 hole course. More golf courses are planned for the region. Other summer activities catered for in the location include, rafting, mountain biking, horse riding, hiking, and numerous places of interest to visit in the region, including the world protected Rila Monastery, caves, and mountain trails of outstanding natural beauty including lakes and waterfalls.

Various airlines all fly direct to Sofia, Easyjet, Wizz Air, British Airways, Bulgaria Air. Airline prices generally range from £60 off peak with Easyjet, £200 during peak times, although booking in advance will get you better deals. Generally speaking lowest prices are with Easyjet. Best flight times are with British Airways from the UK.

Once at Sofia we recommend you hire a car. All the usual hire companies are represented at the airport and we would recommend you use a website such as cheap care hire Europe etc to get the best prices.

The travel distance is about 150 km and will take approx 2.5 hours. Be careful to keep within the speed limits as the Bulgarian police are very hot on speeding.

Follow signs for Kulata and E79 out of Sofia, then follow signs for Dupnista and Blavgoagrad. Go through Blavgroegrad and about 10 minutes later there will be signs for Razlog and Bansko. Once you come into the Razlog area you will see Redenak on your left.
