Our privately owned apartment is brand new and in a fantastic location with stunning views of the Pirin Mountains. It is a genuine 400m from the gondola ski lift and an easy walk to the lovely old town of Bansko.
The “Crystal Aparthotel” complex was voted the best 3 star Hotel facility in Bansko in 2008. This recently completed one-bedroom holiday apartment is on the fourth floor and can be accessed via stairs or lift. Tastefully furnished to a very high standard, it will comfortably sleep 4 people, and includes all bedding and towels. The newly furnished unit features all the luxuries of home - wooden laminate flooring, fully double-glazed windows and terrace doors, comfortable double bed with mattress, pullout sofa bed, fully equipped kitchenette and private balcony. The Pirin/Rhodope Mountains region
The old mountain resort of Bansko has benefited from significant recent investment and is establishing itself as a fast-improving centre for winter skiing and summer activities of all kinds, including walking, mountaineering and biking in the Pirin National Park and golf at a nearby course designed by Ian Woosnam (10KM away).
Being Bulgaria, everything is still extremely favourably priced.
Skiing in Bansko Bansko is the most rapidly developing ski resort in Bulgaria. 40 million Euros have been invested, to create a top rate facility with the best equipment, including a new gondola, snow guns &electronic ski pass system There are 14 pistes extending 65km, including a 16 km run plus cross country and excellent off piste skiing. The skiing conditions are excellent and the ski season longer than usual ( mid December to end of April) due to the abundant winter snowfall. The slopes offer runs and tracks for all types of skiers, from starters to experts, and the ski runs are superbly maintained. Another plus point is an excellent ski school for all levels of ability. Bansko is also gaining popularity with snowboarders who are provided with a half pipe facility.
Bansko / Crystal Apartments area
Whether you are intending to spend some time skiing on the slopes in the winter season or just fancy a tranquil setting for a relaxing break in the summer, Crystal and Bansko can offer it all. If you don’t want to self cater whilst you are there, no problem. Just pop down to the restaurant on the ground floor and you can sample some fantastic dishes, at incredible prices, without even leaving the complex. Then there is the stylish bar in the basement. Superbly furnished unlike any bar in Bansko, excellent.
Why not enjoy a swim or a massage on site, while the kids play in the converted games and soft play room, everyone is kept happy at Crystal. The staff are fantastic and have looked after myself and my young family on numerous occasions. There are even high chairs in the restaurant for the kids and also travel cots if you need them! How to get there
Easy 3 hour flight to historical Sofia. Depending on the time of year you can try and use-- www.easyjet.com from Gatwick & Manchester, www.wizzair.com from Luton, www.airbg.com from Manchester, www.aerlingus.com from Dublin, www.expedia.co.uk for flights from London.
You can also fly to and from Thessaloniki in Greece which is approx 250km away.
Transfers from Sofia Airport to Bansko are approx 2.5 hours which gives you a chance to take in the lovely countryside of Bulgaria.
By Car- Hiring a car can start from as little as GBP 15.00 a day (see www.rentacarbulgaria.com or www.avis.co.uk). If you wanted just a few days car hire, this can be organized in Bansko when you arrive).
By Coach – Frequent service during the day only to Bansko. The coach station is approx. 5 mins drive from the Airport (centre of Sofia city centre) - see www.centralbusstation-sofia.com (approx GBP 7.00 return). The coaches are comfortable (with toilet and air conditioning) and you will experience great views of the countryside & stop half way at a taverna for a break!
Courtesy car/taxi – works out approx GBP70.00 each way (per car not per person) – haggle if need be for this price – don’t pay any more! The owners can put you in touch with an English speaking coach/taxi/minibus service.
Or you can e-mail the complex and they will arrange collection/return to the Airport - for approx £50.00 each way (not per person)
