This is a Fantastic apartment, in a Great location at an Amazing price, that sleeps 4 people comfortably.

LOCATION:

Quiet yet very close to the Gondola and the town.

It is within 5 minutes walk to the Gondola passing a bank, small supermarket and hire shops.

To access the town, you cross the river by walking over a foot bridge 2 minutes away and you're right at the top of Pirin street (the main street running through Bansko). To get there you pass one of the best Mehanas with a superb beer garden, ice cold beer served from a fountain, superb house wine, tremendous hot rakia, open fire BBQ, live gypsy 3 piece band and the freindliest service.

Up until now, we've only had friends, family and friends of friends stay until now to test-drive it and we've had pretty good feed-back.

SPEC:

This fully heated apartment has one double bedroom with loads of storage and an extremely comfortable bed with an awesome view of the mountain. The hardest thing about the holiday is getting out of bed!

The large lounge also has a great view of the mountain and opens onto a balcony. It has 2 double very comfortable leather sofa beds. Although to be honest, just sleeping on the mattress is more comfortable! Sofa beds should either be sofas or beds!

The lounge is open plan with a fully fitted kitchen and dining area. The lounge has a flat screen TV a DVD player and a docking station for your iPod/MP3. The kitchen facilities include a 4 ring electric cooker hob, fridge, microwave oven, toaster and kettle. It is fully kitted (including a 9 cup expresso stove pot - essential!).

Internet is NOT provided. Most bars in town provide these. For example, Johnny Walkers cocktail bar is 2 mins walk away :)

All bedding and towels are provided.

The hallway has storage for your boots, coats, helmets, goggles etc.

The bathroom/wet room has a great shower that will be sure to commence shaking off your hangover!

Our management company is by far the best in Bansko and many extra services and information can be provided if needed.

If you wanted a welcome pack - beers, wine, crisps, bread, coffee, tea, milk, cheese etc, this can be arranged easily at a superb price!

Spa and massage facility in the apartment block.

"Superb. Bansko rocks! Hardly anyone on the mountain - we had it to ourselves and the snow was great! Probably the best off-piste I've ever done - paradise bowl behind Tordoka!!! The apartment was ace. Far from a place to just rest the head! One of the best apartments we've stayed in. Prime spot! So close to the gondola, bars and mehanas. See you next year!"

The Pirin/Rhodope Mountains region

Bansko is a 16th Century town teeming with history.

Located in the south west of Bulgaria in the Blagoevgrad region. It rests at 925m at the foot of three mountains: Pirin, Rila and Rhodopes. Bansko ski resort is based within the Pirin mountain range which also encompasses the Pirin National Park – a world heritage protected area and recognised by UNESCO. It is rich in flora, abundant in waterfalls, caves and pine forests, and the rugged mountains, with around seventy glacial lakes scattered throughout them, are a relic of the ancient glacial days of Europe.

Bansko has preserved its authentic mountain village atmosphere, due to the 11,000 local residents that still live and work in the area. The town is immersed in history and unique architecture.

Bansko is becoming known as Europe's best kept secret. It is indisputably Europe's most affordable ski resort uncompromising on quality and yet retaining its cobbled street charm thus ensuring an outstanding ski experience.

In addition to this, it is establishing itself as an all-seasons resort hosting festivals and offering a huge range of activities from mountain biking, climbing, horse-riding, fishing, and walking amongst many others.

Within 10 minutes' drive from the apartment, you'll arrive at Pirin Golf resort - a 5 star resort whose course was designed by Ian Woosnam. Well worth a visit if not just for the restaurant.

And if all this makes you just want to chill and relax, then head to many of the 4 and 5 star hotels for some luxurious spa treatments, saunas and swimming pools – all at amazing prices, offering fantastic value for money.

Bansko

SNOW, SKI & BOARD

Bansko is a traditional Ski resort that people have been visiting since the early 1990's. However over the past few years it has undergone a multi-million Euro facelift transforming it into a modern Ski resort boasting luxury hotels and apartments with awesome winter facilities, quality equipment and fantastic ski runs catering from the advanced skier to the beginner. The brand new gondola lift takes you 10km above the town and into 2 main ski centres with altitudes of 1100-2600m. From here, 25 km's of state of the art lifts ensure speedy and comfortable access to over 80 km's of slopes that are securely fenced and prepared maintaining a pleasant, fun and safe skiing experience. The majority of runs are wide and link well with each other ensuring long runs. If you have the legs for it, you could ski 16 km's from the peak Todorka, all the way back to town, step out of your skis and off your board and grab a beer for your reward!

Snow coverage is guaranteed from December through till May due to the geographical location high in the Pirin mountain range. Abundant snowfalls provide an average winter snow cover of over 2 metres...and in any case, more than 160 snow cannons on every slope ensure good coverage throughout the season!

For the more adventurous, there are copious tree runs, amazing off-piste and a fun park at hand.

The season typically commences in mid-December and goes through to around the 2nd weekend of April. At certain times of year, floodlit night skiing is available on the ski road back to town, so cruise under the stars with your family and loved ones at your own pace.

There are an abundance of hire shops, shops and ski schools on offer with a range of top class, state of the art kit and friendly instructors at the ski and snowboarding schools for all levels.

Lift passes can be bought in resort or over the internet before your arrival. You could save about 50% if you booked a full ski package before you went (all hire, school and lift pass – for as little as £230). A 6 day adult pass during the peak season in resort costs about £140. The pass is hands free and rests in your pocket.

Many nursery schools are also available in resort. For example the “Ulen” (official bansko ski company) have a nursery facility for children aged between 4-7 yrs old from 9am – 4pm. A 6 day package is about £140.

APRÈS SKI

One of the highlights about Bulgarian après ski is the price!

Up the mountain, there are copious affordable bars, restaurants and BBQ's.

Back in town, kick off your skis and board and start walking from the gondola and search out many of the bars that Bansko hosts. The family run Mehanas will be happy for you to stroll in and sit down either in their courtyards or by the fire inside and relax having anything from a beer to a meal. The same applies to the hotels and other apartment blocks. Many have their own bars and restaurants that welcome non-paying guests to either just chill with a drink or try some of their menus and fine wines.

Most bars offer a cool, cosy atmosphere and good music. You should expect to pay between £1-2.50 for your beers.

Bulgarian cuisine is a pleasant surprise compromising hearty delicious meals in earthenware bowls and literally 100's of fresh tasty salads to choose from. A wide variety of fresh fish, meats and vegetables will be served roasted, stewed or BBQ'd with lots of garlic, onions, oil and spices. Don't be surprised to find a 2ft skewer of tender mouth-watering meat when you order the kebab! And don't be shy to try a local dish even if you haven't got a clue what it is - you will rarely be dissapointed -the "kapama" is a must! Most menus will have an English translation.

The service is typically outstanding and very friendly.

Expect to go out with £20 in your pocket and come back with your belly full, your cheeks rosy and your head light!

However if you want something different a variety of Western foods, Greek, Sushi bars, quality Italian restaurants and pizza kiosks are available throughout the town.

For those of you in search of high class dining choose any of the restaurants in the 4 star and 5 star hotels, all welcome guests and their cuisine is first class. There are also numerous Spa's available around town that can cost about £20 for a day lounging by the pool, Jacuzzi and sauna, with a treatment, glass of wine and lunch!

However, if all you really want to do is get back and chill your sweaty boots in your luxury apartment, there are a variety of supermarkets and a selection of small local stores en route back to the pad, allowing you to just kick back and unwind with your own selection of beverages and snacks. Happy days!

"A home away from home in a great location, we will be back!"

We are regulars to Bansko and this is the best apartment we have stayed in, would definitely recommend! The building is so close to all the action but still in a quiet area and the apartment itself is very well equipped and tastefully done. It was very clean and comfortable and there were chocolates on our pillows when we arrived! Really felt at home there and had a great time. I have to mention Tim who met us to hand over the keys as he was a real character and was very friendly and helpful. Damian who owns the flat also gave us loads of advice on places to go and we discovered some new favourite places this trip thanks to him.

Thanks for a brilliant stay, looking forward to our return!
