The building has a ski store, small bar, jacuzzi and sauna, and massage room. The management are english speaking Bulgarians and are extremely helpful. There is wifi in the flat, but you can also visit an internet/cafe across the road run by the same management.
The area the building is situated in is partly residential. You can walk to the town in 5 minutes and visit the Mehanas (taverns) with their variety of Bulgarian dishes, and local musicians to entertain you.
Bansko has its unique style of singing and folk music. There are artisically decorated stone historic houses in narrow cobble-stone streets. The beautiful medieval orthodox church with its famous stork nest on top of the tower has a display of icons. You can also visit houses of famous poets/revolutionaries, or simply enjoy the shopping ! Not to mention the hunting/hiking opportunities and the brand new golf courses!
In the summer you can walk or mountain bike, visit the famous Rila monastery or simply enjoy the facilities of the five star spas in the new Alpine-style hotels.
The gondola/ski lift is about a 15 minute walk, but there is transport organised by the management for small and large groups. They have a people carrier. They can also arrange ski and snowboarding hire and tuition. Rady, the developer heads up the management company and is a member of the Bulgarian Snowboarding Association. Educated in England, he is a mine of imformation, when not up the mountain! Or bump into the 50 English people that live in Bansko...they'll tell you how great the lifestyle is out here and how cheap it is!
Bansko is a preferred winter sport centre. There are 65km long first class tracks with the most up-to-date cable lifts, equipment and instructors. Ride the powder around the forests and the peaks of the Pirin mountains.

The Pirin/Rhodope Mountains region
Bansko is a great example of the spirit and culture of the Bulgarian people, with its Bulgarian Revival style houses. Some are fortified and date from the 18-19 cneturies. The town is well known for its artists, woodcarvers and builders. It has its own special style of cuisine, song and dance! It has been the home to a lot of Bulgaria's most important historic figures in the realms of science and art.
Bansko is 925m above sea level, at the base of the Pirin mountains. It has convenient, up-to-date bus connections to Bladoevgrad (62 km), Razlog, Velingrad, Plovdiv and Sofia. The town also has railway connections on the Septemvri Dobrinishte line.
Bansko has a short summer and long winter. The snow lasts a long time and is thick and good for winter sports. The Gondola takes you on a 20 minute magical ride up to the central skiing point. You will find restaurants and other facilities. There are also chair lifts, tow-lifts, tracks and runs, walking and hiking paths and facilities for small children. When necessary, snow canons are used to boost snowfall.
