The Pirin/Rhodope Mountains region
Bansko is located at the foot of the Pirin National Park. A mountain resort with a hot summer and long winter. Snow falls are usually abundant, providing a winter snow cover up to 2 m thick. Apart from the skiing the region is also famous for its cuisine and colourful folklore.
The winter resort is located just above the colourful town of Bansko 12 km into the picturesque Pirin Mountain. The ski runs stretch over 70 km with 25 km of modern high-capacity lift infrastructure In addition, fans of extreme winter sports will enjoy the fun park and the half pipe for that enormous adrenaline rush.
Bansko area
For parents Nursery and Ski school give attentive and adept care to children and teenagers. A number of cozy, dining establishments and ski-bars find themselves around the Bansko ski tracks, offering the tasty local cuisine along with fresh drinks. A perfect place for basking in the winter sun. Bansko has more than 160 snow cannons,secure snow coverage from December to May. The Pirin National Park combines breath-taking views with excellent opportunities for hiking and sightseeing, including an abundance of lakes, waterfalls, caves and historical sights. The town and the nearby villages are known for their healing mineral springs, providing opportunities for rest and relaxation.
The town of Bansko attracts visitors with its 120 cultural monuments. It is famous for its fortified and artistically decorated houses and quaint cobbled streets. The Holy Trinity Church, with its 30 m high bell-tower and clock, splendid murals and woodcarvings, is the centre-point of the town. Every August Bansko hosts an International Jazz Festival, attracting artists and audiences from around the world. There are Museum houses and collections, souvenir shops and around every corner traditional Mehanas ,taverns serving local cuisine and of course Rakia, making this resort a unique holiday experience.

We had a brilliant time in Mountain Residence 3 (apartment Serita). The ski-ing was great, with lots of snow. The Nighlife was buzzing ! Apartment was immaculate - modern, spacious, well equipped, warm and cosy with great views. I didn't want to come home ! Mr. C ( Bath)
