Spacious apartment, furnished to a high standard. sleep up to 6. The master bedroom has a double bed and en-suite bathroom and opens onto a balcony. The second bedroom has twin beds and also opens onto the balcony. There is a second shower room. The lounge, dining area and kitchen are open plan with a double sofa bed and 2 armchairs in the lounge, and cable TV and DVD player. The lounge and dining area open onto a second balcony. The kitchen is fully equipped including oven, hob, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher. There is ample room in the entrance hall for luggage, coats, ski boots etc. All linen and towels are provided. Internet facilities are available in the internet cafe and for a small additional weekly charge also in the apartment. There is electric heating as well as log fire.

The Pirin/Rhodope Mountains region
Although in winter, Bansko is primarily a ski resort, in summer hiking, climbing and horse riding are popular. There are well signed routes and hikers' chalets. Mountain bikes can be hired in order to explore this beautiful region. Local companies can organise trips in the mountains e.g. white water rafting, canoeing, paragliding. Also in summer the town hosts a week long jazz festival and other events.
Bansko area
Bansko town is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It has narrow cobbled streets with stone houses, 120 cultural monuments, museums and permanent ethnographic exhibitions. In the centre is The Holy Trinity church with its 30 m high bell tower and clock, splendid murals and woodcarvings. For après ski the traditional Bansko tavern ("Mehana"), with their exceptional charm and style offer local atmosphere with their cuisine and good selection of Bulgarian wines. Most of the local "Mehanas" even offer live folk music. A visit or two to these is a must! Discos and night clubs work without time limit, and usually close early in the morning. As the cost of living is very cheap in Bulgaria, your money will go several times further here than in skiing resorts in other parts of Europe. Bansko is the newest and the most rapidly developing ski resorts in Bulgaria. 40 million Euros have been invested, to create a top rate facility with the best equipment, including a new gondola, snow guns, electronic ski pass system etc. There are 14 pistes totalling 65km, including a 16 km run plus cross country and excellent off piste skiing. Bansko is popular with snowboarders; facilities include a half pipe. There is a top class ski school for all levels of ability. The ski season is one of the longest; roughly mid December until the end of April.The Ski area is excellent for beginners and intermediates. For snowboarders and the more advanced skiers there is challenging off piste.
How to get there
The nearest airport is 170km away in Sofia, the capital. Direct flights to Sofia depart daily from Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton and Manchester. The cheapest flights seem to be from Easyjet starting around £35 each way. The complex operates a shuttle service to and from the airport for 100 Euros each way for up to 5 persons, 20 Euros per person for additional passengers.
