The Pirin/Rhodope Mountains region
Nestled between the Pirin, Rila and Rhodope mountain ranges, Bansko is located at the foot of the Pirin National Park, listed in the World Register of Natural Heritage. It is a climatic mountain resort with a short hot summer and long mild winter. Snow falls are abundant, providing a constant winter snow cover up to 2 m thick. The region is famous for its cuisine and colourful folklore and offers various entertainment opportunities. The access to Bansko is convenient even in winter conditions.
The ski resort has had extensive investment over recent years, and offers great skiing, in particular for intermediate and beginner levels. The ski school has a good reputation, with english speaking instructors. Snowboarding instruction is also available. Walking routes are well marked. We recommend using one of the local guiding firms for the first walk. There are literally thousands of lakes in the lower hills and the scenery is breathtaking. Horse riding is available in nearby Razlog. The Rila Monastery is accessible from Bansko, for a day off from skiing and taking in a little history and culture. Mountain bikes and guides are available for hire in Bansko.

Bansko is situated at the foot of the Pirin Mountains, approx 160kms from Sofia and 80kms from the Aegean Coast in Greece. The beautiful town is surrounded by panoramic scenery and boasts a superb resort for both summer & winter visitors. The old town has charming character and is beautiful with plenty of restaurants and bars offering superb food at ridiculously low prices. For summer visitors there's walking, fishing, hiking, bear park, horse-riding, spa/aqua pool, mountain biking, white water rafting, quad biking, ten-pin bowling, annual international jazz festival in August & Pirin National Park. For winter visitors there's ice skating, as well as skiing/boarding + apres-ski. Spring and autumn are also beautiful.

Spacious lounge/diner with dining table and 4 chairs, satellite TV, DVD, internet connection, phone line, coffee table, games, door to private balcony, Large storage room. All linen & towels included. Apartment fully cleaned prior to your arrival + mid week clean can be arranged (additional charge 12 euros).Welcome packs can be ordered (35 and 45 euros). Accommodation is fully heated in the winter and cool in the summer and is suitable for couples, friends and families. Smoking is permitted on the balcony ONLY.

we had a great time, your apartment was lovely and was in a perfect location. I really was dreading carrying my snowboard up to the gondola but it was so close it was great. All the staff were really polite and helpful not to mention the pool and spa being a god send after a couple of days when we were all stiff. C Gribbin March 08
