The Pirin/Rhodope Mountains region
The apartment is locacted at base of the Pirin national park within a short walking distance of the gondola lift, there has been a recent multi millon euro investment in the Bansko area. The area has excellent snow conditions from December to May, giving it the longest ski season of the Bulgarian resorts. The pistes total 65 kilometers, Bansko is 925m above sea level, the skiing area is 2,000 - 2,600m. Bansko boasts 44 technoalpine snow cannons ensuring maximun pleasure and the long season. It is ideal for skiers and snowboarder alike. The ski school has English speaking instructer's, anybody over the age of 5 can take lessons, there is also an emergency ski patrol 24 hours a day, fully equipped clinic and hospital, first - aid on all slopes, also highly qualified dental services are available. Bansko is not only a skiing resort but offers wonderful summer holiday with many walking trails, riding, hiking, fishing and rock climbing.

Bansko is a charming town situated by the Glazne river, at the foot of the Pirin Mountain, at the base of the highest and most beautiful part of the mountain, Bansko is a mixture of old world tradition, as it can be dated back to the 10th centuary, having around 120 historical and cultural monuments, it consists of old wooden and stone houses, every one with a tale to tell, in the old town you will find "mehana's", these are local taverns, where you can sample local dishes and wines at a very reasonable price while you enjoy traditional music and folk dancing in a friendly and cosy atmosphere. The modern part of Bansko offers 5 star hotels with modern resturaunts most with indoor swimming pools and gyms

Flights available to Sofia and Plovdiv from all major U.K.and Major European Airports. From the UK: cheap flights to Sofia from Luton with WIZZAIR (www.wizzair.com). From Gatwick and Manchester with Bulgaria Air or from Heathrow with British Airways & Easy Jet from 11th Dec 2008 into Sofia. - Travel to Bansko from Sofia (160 km) or Plovdiv by either: A. Airport transfers can be arranged through our rental management B. Car hire is available from www.bulgariacarrent.com or www.rentacarbulgaria.com. C. Regular bus service from Sofia to Bansko (it takes approx. 3 hours).
