We are situated just 800 mts from the Gondola and the old town where you can find lots of local Mehana (taverns serving local dishes) Apres ski bars and Night Clubs.

The Pirin/Rhodope Mountains region

Bansko is Bulgaira number one ski resort nestled between the Pirin, Rila and Rhodope mountain ranges, Bansko is located at the foot of the Pirin National Park and the Razlog Valley, listed in the World Register of Natural Heritage.

The town of Bansko is located on 925 m. above sea level, and its skiing area is on 2000-2600 m. The Pirin mountain has a predominantly Alpine character and highest peak in the area is Vihren 2914 m.
It is a climatic mountain resort with beautiful hot summers and long winter ski season from December till middle of May.

Bansko area

Bansko was originally a small rural village with just a few local Mehana (local tavern serving local dishes), it is now the best ski and snow boarding resort in Bulgaira with excellent English speaking ski/board schools.

Bansko is well known for its cuisine including local dishes like Banski Sarets, Shopski Salad and much much more. Food is still very low cost and you can feed a family of four for around £20.00

For nightlife you have several Apris Ski bars and night clubs to suit all tastes. Alcohol is very low cost with an average pint of beer/larger being about 60p or a shot of Vodka.brandy etc being 50p.

There is so much to do in Bansko and the surrounding areas why not try the following:

Ski on some of the best learner/ intermediate slopes around

Snowboard on some of the best slopes and half pipes (good for learner or intermediate)

Trekking in the mountains (you can hire a guide or venture out yourself)

Camping in the mountins or by the lakes (you can hire equipment or bring your own)

Fishing in many of the nearby lakes

Spa enjoy a luxury day in a five star spa resort with worldwide treatments such as Thai massage and hot stone thearpy (go on treat yourself)

Swimming/bathing - Bansko does have a great oudoor pool with a lovely sunbathing area and cafe bar.

Mountain Biking - you can either go on arranged Biking treks or you could just take a map and head off into the lovely countryside. This is a great way of seeing the countryside and mountains.

Thermal Spa - Bansko is surrounded by natural thermal spas whcih is is a great way to relax and the water is said to be very good for the skin.

Golfing (Bansko is the first area to have a new golf course being built by IMG and designed by Ian Woosnam) work started last year and should be complete over the next year or so.

How to get there

Fly from most UK Airports in only 2 to 3 hours and then either hire a car or we can arrange a transfer to Bansko. It is a beuatiful drive through little villages and mountain views.

Bansko is about 160 kms from Sofia which takes about 2hours. The drive is especially nice with mountain views and villages.
Sofia as a regular bus service to Bansko or you may want to arrange a transfer or hire a car.
