About the home
The Library Complex is a great rental opportunity of 11 individual luxury chalets situated in the heart of central Bansko. The primary attraction of the complex is the location, a short walk to the Gondola Lift Station (see photo's for map). The Chalets are also within similar walking distance to the centre of Bansko, allowing you to easily experience the wealth of culture and amenities on offer such as the local Mehana’s, bars and clubs.
Great views of the Pirin Mountain range truly enhance what these properties have to offer guests.
Each Chalet has a charming character, offering a spacious and comfortable living environment for the duration of your stay in Bansko. Facilities include;

The accommodation is warm, comfortable, spacious and perfect for families, couples and groups. There are full self-catering facilities allowing the option of a cost effective visit to the resort. Each room has individual heaters; there is a log fire for cosy nights in and a TV/DVD and IPOD docking station to keep you entertained.
In association with a local management company, we will ensure your stay is as relaxed and enjoyable as possible. You will be greeted upon your arrival, provided a handover of the apartment and instructions on the facilities. A local host will provide advice and give an opportunity to answer any questions you may have. In the unlikely event any issues arise, the management company provide a full service to minimise disruption to your vacation, providing the re-assurance of a package holiday without the ties.
Up to 18 guests can be accommodated through the partnership with other owners in this complex.
Return transfers from Sofia start from approx £30 per person while Ski equipment can be hired individually or as a pack. Ski packs and lift pass start from approx £175 per person.

Bansko is a mountain resort in Bulgaria with a short hot summer, long winter and temperate spring and autumn. The skiing season starts in the middle of December and ends in mid-April.
The resort is an ideal base for both winter and summer visitors. It is the newest of the Bulgarian ski resorts and combines the qualities of an old Bulgarian town and a new ski resort, boasting many historic monuments and traditional museums. This region is also famous for its cuisine and folklore.
Over the last seven years, 200 million euros has been invested in Bansko, nearly 40 million euros in the ski facilities alone. This is reflected in the number and quality of ski lifts including an 8-man Doppelmayer Gondola cable car, five 4-seat lifts of the latest Doppelmayer models, one 3-seat lift by Poma, 6 drags and 10 baby drags. The easy access to all lifts is secured by chip-cards from SkiData.
There are 65 kilometers of marked ski runs and ski tracks, with more planned, which are regularly maintained by 12 Kassbohrer snow grooming machines. Excellent quality, crisp white snow is guaranteed from December until May by 40 TechnoAlpin snow cannons. The average temperature during January, the coldest month, is - 1.9°C and snow falls are generally abundant, providing a constant winter snow cover up to 2 metres thick.
In the summer visitors can enjoy walking, mountain biking, riding and white water rafting in the beauty of Pirin National park. An Ian Woosnam golf course is currently under construction 3km outside Bansko.
The Bansko area
Bansko has the best state-of-the-art winter sport facilities in Bulgaria. It has an exclusive 16-kilometre uninterrupted ski run that starts from Todorka Peak at 2600 metres and ends at the newly built Gondola cable car on the outskirts of Bansko. The ski runs are equipped with artificial snow machines to guarantee perfect skiing conditions at all times.
In total, there are 17 pistes in Bansko, five 4-seat lifts, one 3-seat lift, 6 drags and 10 baby drags and a new gondola cable car is planned, ensuring that skiers from beginners to experts can enjoy the runs. The total length of marked ski runs is 65 km, allowing for up to 10,000 skiers a day. Ski passes are fitted with micro-chips which can be read even through clothing and rescue services include a short-code mobile number for skiers in trouble.
Skiers can also experience off-piste skiing or try out the biathlon, a mix of shooting and skiing popular with Bulgarians. Local tour operators also offer guided cross-country skiing and snowshoeing across the pine-clad lower slopes. In summer, climbers and hikers can use a network of alpine huts and many of the trails and roads that serve the ski resort are great for mountain biking.
A combination of the ski facilities and the attractions of Pirin national park make this a must visit resort.

Bulgaria and Bansko in particular has a tremendous amount to offer. An all year round tourist destination with fantastic ski resorts in the winter, great views, walking, mountain biking, spa's and outdoor activities for the summer.
Ideal snow conditions in the mountains make for excellent skiing and snowboarding in the winter months. The summer months enjoy regular Mediterranean temperatures of 80°F between May and October.
Direct Flights are available to Sofia and flight times are approximately 2 hours 45 minutes. Wizz Air, Ryan Air & Easy Jet, the low cost airlines are offering flights to Sofia from Manchester, Luton & Gatwick from approx £75 per person. You can also fly to Plovdiv as an alternative.
Return transfers from Sofia can be arranged from as little as £25 per person (approx) dependant on group numbers. Discounts apply for larger groups.

Looking online for suitable acommodation for a family holiday in Bansko when you live in Australia can be confusing... but we picked the perfect chalet for our family reunion with adult children! Found "Library 1" from the choices on www.holidayletting.co.uk and were very impressed by the quick response from the owner to our enquiry. We chose "Library 1" because the owner was always quick to respond to our emails and was also extremely helpful with every facet of planning for our holiday, including suggestions regarding flights from UK, taxi services to Bansko from Sofia airport, ski hire, etc. The chalet was ideal. Extremely clean, modern and very comfortable. Plenty of good quality bedding, towels and appliances for all our needs. All needs thought of by the owners! Easy walking distance to great restaurants, bars, shops and ski hire places as well as the gondola station. Being a ground floor apartment was also great! Highly recommend this chalet for a fabulous Bansko holiday. Bansko managers of the property also brilliant. Everything about booking, staying and getting advice was easy! |

Had a great time in Bansko staying at the "Library". it was clean, tidy, comfortable and it had a log fire. it was close enough to the main lift (about 10 mins walk), restaurants and bars without being too close that it was noisy either. Good communication from the owner throughout. He helped us out with all manner of things including tranfers, hire equiptment and even decent restaurants. the local brew shumensko wasnt bad either!!!! All our previous trips have been to the big French resorts where we have ended up spending an absolute bomb on a weeks trip so it was so refreshing to actually find a cracking little resort and decent accomodation for a spot on price. |

We had a great holiday and the location and comfort of the chalet really made the difference. We found communication with the owner extremely good and everything was exactly as described. The chalet is the perfect distance from the Gondola and just close enough to local bars, pubs and restaurants. We found the chalet to be clean, well equipped and homely - perfect for relaxing after a long day on the slopes. As it's a 2 storey house it also seemed to have the edge over apartments we had stayed in previously. We will definitely be looking to book our stay here again! Thanks! |

We had a fab time, thank you. I had no complaints with the apartment or anything else for that matter, thought the location was perfect (especially as we had to walk every day past the Greek pastry shop – mmmmmm dangerous!!) and the apartment itself was very clean, warm, and cosy.

By far the best accommodation we have stayed at in all our years of snowboard trips (around 8 combined). Clean, tidy, good facilities and only 10 mins walk from the gondola....all this and a real log fire!!!!
Cracking mountain that will keep you occupied all week, with cheap food and drink compared to other big European resorts. We also had a tonne of snow when we were there (6/3/10).
We will be back to the "Library" for another stay in the near future!

The chalet was really very good and practical. Warm, with view outside, you feel really nice inside. The big window at the sofa is great, the two toilets , everything! Also it was great to have our friends in the next apartment.

One word - awesome! We arrived with no snow and overnight we had about a metre of snow. It continued to snow for a couple of days after that so conditions we absolutely perfect.
The apartment we loved. Close to everything we needed and very warm and comfortable. We had the fire going one night but it was too hot! Balkan PMS were very good to deal with also. We thought the place was excellent and hope we are able to come again next year!
