Bansko is situated at the foot of the beautiful Pirin mountains and is regarded as the best ski resort in eastern Europe, regularly hosting World Cup events. The area is also a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts with great mountain walks, mountain biking, white water rafting, quad bikes for hire, fishing and paragliding.. Summer temperatures average the high 20Cs but often exceed 30C.
Bansko Royal Towers certainly justifies its reputation as arguably the best in Bansko. It offers an indoor spa with pool, Jacuzzi sauna and steam room, gym and games room.The facilities are available free of charge to guests at the apartment except massage and beauty treatments which can be booked at the spa reception. There are various restaurants and bars and a night club for apres ski. There is an outdoor pool for summer use with pleasant gardens and children's play equipment. Very importantly,the complex is open all year, unlike many in Bansko which are mothballed during the summer, The location at the top of the town immediately adjacent to the ski gondola cannot be bettered.
The old town with its many " mehanas" or traditional restaurants is a short walk away.
Apartment 1155 is one of the very few two bedroom apartments in the development. It is situated on the top floor in a quiet part of the complex.The apartment offers superior accommodation with a shower room and a second WC. It is uniquely and tastefully furnished to a very high standard with quality oak furniture imported from the UK, a refreshing change from the usual standard furniture packages.
A particular feature is the exceptionally large balcony facing west with extensive views to the Pirin mountains to the south, the Rila mountains to the north and up the Razlog valley to the west, a treat for lovers of glorious sunsets. The balcony is furnished with tables and chairs and a gas barbecue for summer alfresco wining and dining or just sunbathing in the afternoon sunshine. The apartment has a double bedroom, and a twin bedded room which can accommodate three adults using the additional very comfortable chair bed. The comfy mattresses and soft pillows help guarantee a good night's sleeps.The sofa in the lounge comfortably sleeps a sixth person. Spacious comfortable and homely.
Whilst the attractions of the complex and the town are all nearby, the apartment has a plasma screen TV with DVD player and a CD player for nights in and is comprehensively equipped for self catering. A selection of DVDs are provided. Free internet access means you can keep in touch with friends and family or pick up those emails if you must.

Bansko is a small town set at 925m above sea level and sits at the foot of 2914m Mt Vihren on the edge of the Pirin National Park,with over a 100 peaks higher than 2000m, and a wide variety of flora and fauna. The town has an unspoilt old town with ancient buildings and winding streets leading to the town square with fountains, sculptures and restaurants. Take a look at the St Trinity church on the way down and watch for the nesting storks on the tower.
The square is a great place to sit in the sun with a coffee and watch Bansko going about its business.The modern apartment developments to the south and west reflect the town's growth over the last decade as a leading ski resort In winter the town bustles with skiers and snowboarders.
Bansko is Eastern Europe's number 1 ski resort, having the best and most modern ski centre, a reliable snow record and a ski season from December to April. There are 14 pistes totalling over 65km including a 16km run , reaching a height of 2560m, together with cross country,off- piste skiing. Great also for snowboarders including a snowboard fun park. Bansko offers great skiing for all levels of ability from total beginner to expert (8 blue runs,11 red and 1 black) and has excellent ski schools. Equipment hire and purchase is readily available and relatively cheap. There is après ski entertainment for all age groups whether you want to dance the night away or eat good quality and inexpensive local food in the many traditional taverns or mehanas as they are known.
In the summer the mountains offer fantastic hiking on many kilometers of clearly marked trails for all abilities and fitness levels including guided walks to the peaks.Activities available also include mountain biking, horse riding, quad biking, jeep safaris, white water rafting, fishing and bird watching.
10 minutes drive away is the new Ian Woosnam designed golf course, regarded as one of the best in Bulgaria and set in beautiful surroundings.
In the summer you will be struck by the beauty of the scenery, the long hot sunny days, and particularly the air of peace and tranquility. You will remember the friendliness of the local people and the horse drawn carts carrying all variety of things from grass and firewood to building materials following family traditions going back centuries.
The Bansko / Bansko Royal Towers area
In August, Bansko hosts a large International jazz and folk Festivals, with some performances taking place in the Bansko Royal Towers gardens..
In the local area, the Rila Monastery( about 90 minutes),and Belitsa bear park (45 minutes) are the two most famous of many local attractions. In the summer the natural spring swimming pool at Dobrinishte ( 6 kms) offers popular warm water bathing.
Further afield the Greek coast is only about 3 hours drive away if you fancy sampling Greek culture and the Aegean sun and sea. Excursions to Greece are available to book locally.
Close to Bansko Royal Towers are the town's Ice skating rink and bowling alley. The new Bansko shopping mall is next door with a variety of shops eating places and children's entertainment.

We have been to many apts in Bansko , France , Austria etc and although the skiing level with other resorts in Europe cannot be compared to Bansko , this is by far the BEST apt we have EVER rented anywhere. It is very well situated ( 5mns walk to the Gondola), many ski -hire shops nearby , a restaurant in the complex if you don't want to wander off far and of course an indoor pool , with spa facilities etc...The Apt itself is very quiet ( 5th floor), very well equiped, beds very comfortable, basically nothing is missing. If I had to find one complaint , ( hard !!) , but I would say although it has 2 bathrooms , it only has 1 shower ... A bath is always so welcome at the end of a skiiing day! But everything else makes up for it . The Apt is so well decorated , it's got a very home-from-home feel to it. Spacious , very clean , and comfortable , in one sentence . HIGHLY RECOMMEND , WILL BE BACK !!!! |
