The Pirin/Rhodope Mountains region
The coldest month in Bansko is generally Janurary, with average temperatures of -1.9 deg. celcius. There are abundant snow falls during winter & coupled with the ski areas high altitude, there is always an abundance of snow. The ski season runs from mid. December to mid April.
Bansko / Vihren Complex area
Bansko is located at the base of the Pirin mountains, 160km south of Sofia. Bansko has a very modern ski area with 65km of piste. During the summer months there are many activities near by, white water rafting, rock climbing, horse riding, golfing, fishing, guided walking. There are also many interesting tours, such as to Rila Monastery & to Belista bear park.
