The Pirin/Rhodope Mountains region
Bansko is located at 925 metres above sea level with its main ski area between 2600 - 1635 metres. A smaller ski area is accessed at the mid-station of the Gondola (Chalin valog 1467m).
Bansko offers its guests a unique 16 kilometre uninterrupted ski run, starting from Todorka Peak (2600 m) at the highest point of the ski centre, all the way to the base station of the Gondola lift at the outskirts of town.
The last 7 km of the slope are floodlit, and the entire facility is equipped with artificial snow machines to ensure a great skiing experience even in warmer conditions.
All equipment can be hired on the walk to the Gondola or at the gondola itself. One of the best things about skiing in Bansko is that you can ski down into the village.

There are many traditional taverns "Mehana" which offer great local cuisine at very reasonable prices, music and entertainment. Vegetarians are also well catered for. “Sir Galahad’s restaurant and bar is directly opposite the Apartment. Food shops Hairdresser and beauty Salon located beside Eagle's Nest Hotel
Bansko has an excellent Apri-ski which is open 'till early in the morning. There are numerous bars, nightclubs, a casino, an ice skating rink and bowling alley all within a short walk.
The famous Strazhite hotel is just a short walk away & use of their indoor heated pool is available for a small charge.
How to get there
Direct flights to Sofia Airport from Manchester & London Gatwick with Easy jet: London Heathrow with British Airways & Bulgaria Air Luton with Wizzair.
Non direct flights from Bristol airport with AirFrance, and Stansted with German Wings airline.

Bansko is about 160 km south of Sofia ( about 2.5 hour transfer) Plovdiv is about 3.5 - 4 hrs transfer Car hire is available from the airport.
Airport pick up can be arranged if required. (company we can recommend & have used ourselves) Airport taxi available but arrange price before you set off for Bansko. Bus Service from the 2 Bus Treminals in Sofia only 14 lev per person each way to Bansko
